Here is some raw footage that I didn't get to use during the Niagara adventure! If you were wondering what class 6 rapids look like, it's pretty scary stuff. I also know I spelt scariest wrong. =(

You have to be there standing at the edge of the shore to understand how powerful the Niagara River Rapids are. It is freaky! Good video though

One thing I love to think about is how, if you look at 2:44 and pause it you can see the mist and the spray of the Horse Shoe Falls in the distance. Every step, every inch of that gorge was at one point it's own Niagara Falls, chewing and eating it's way through the rock, inch by inch for thousands of years. Looking at the gorge and the lower Niagara River is like watching the slow moving trail of some great worm or something

Class 6 rapids are considered suicidal to swim in and are practically unraftable

I don't think so. I was born and raised on the Niagara River in Lewiston, NY. My parents own a Marina. EVERY Summer and early Fall there are drownings. It is something to stay clear of. I live in Niagara Falls and stay clear of this with my kids. A 15 yr old just drowned by Whirlpool State Park 2 weeks ago while fishing with his father. It is NOT as beautiful as it seems. It is deadly!!!

@@stillchillin7580 I agree swimming in this you wouldn't last 30 seconds! I lived up the river. Bodies turn up every year in the Niagara River.

@@toxicginger9936 Years ago daredevils used to brag among themselves about who has gone down the rapids in a barrel. To do it was something for them to really brag about.

I would still call it class 5. It's got some killer looking holes on the sides, which are avoidable. It's huge water, and its energy is bursting out randomly, with random large features appearing randomly.
