I'm a new patient of Dr. Wiseman (previously saw a nurse practitioner who drastically cut back her hours) and have been drinking Stryk Dairy raw milk for over 2 years, so this video was so interesting to me. I will never go back to "dead" pasteurized milk! This is the absolute best milk I've ever had. There's a thick layer of cream on top, and I just shake the carton to mix it. I even made homemade butter once from the cream -- delicious. A friend also drinks Stryk raw milk (she's super knowledgeable about whole, "real" food); she makes homemade yogurt and kefir with it. I love the health benefits, and like knowing I'm supporting a local dairy that is treating its cows humanely and taking good care of its land.

+7wren we also get milk from Stryk Dairy Farm. But I still re-heat for few minutes right before it boils since the kids don't like to drink directly at cold, so are we actually kill the milk by heating it?

I fully support the right of consumers to purchase and drink safe and delicious locally produced clean and properly handled and cooled raw and raw milk products such as butter yogurt etc that is produced by healthy cows. But healthy cows is the key! And I agree with most of what is said in this video about commercially pasteurized, homogenized and processed milk. However some of what is said is simply not correct, because he just doesn't know the business. Be sure any raw or pasteurized milk you buy comes from cows that are not infected with Bovine Leucosis Virus (BLV). It is a virus that infects nearly 100% of the dairy herd in the US. Sadly it is incurable and is passed onto humans who drink milk infected with the virus. The CDC has associated it with certain forms of breast cancer in humans. In my experience, tests at an FDA certified dairy testing lab indicate that HTST pasteurization does not eliminate the virus in milk. However indications are that UHT pasteurization does. I tell all my four children and their families to only drink raw milk from cows that have been tested and found to be free of BLV. But if they must buy pasteurized milk I urge them to buy organic milk that has been UHT pasteurized. That is unfortunate, because there is no such thing as low heat pasteurization. HTST pasteurization (only pasteurization without homogenization or further processing) minimizes the milk's exposure to heat and preserves the nutritional value of milk better than any other form of pasteurization. Trust me, I have been involved with all levels of the dairy industry for over 50 years and have been a dairy farmer for over forty years.

Good video. I enjoy it when you go on the scene like this. There is a lot of misunderstanding in the public about raw milk. I personally cannot handle the lactose in milk. Any thoughts on lactose free milk?

I met with Dr. Wiseman this week and he said that I might be intolerant to the sugars in dairy, rather than the lactose. That's interesting as I certainly love sugar.

Honestly its great IF these cows are grazing 23 hours of the day which is better than factory farms, but it doesn't matter where I go no one ever mentions what happens to the cow after milk production stops. Do you continue to feed and look after her? What happens to her babies? my bet is to the slaughter house where the treatment is horrific. You can sugar coat it all you want, Not Your Mother, Not Your Milk!

Jewls Wilson ...did you ever think that perhaps hypothetical of course....that these ladies (cows) have better conditions and in turn they live better quality life & many hang around a loooooong time. My jersey milk cow is 18 we purchased her in 2012. She feeds her calf & still produces 5gal a day beyond the calfs needs....
