@@Harley08I live in the Woodlands and drive to Houston multiple times a month for doctors appointments. Nobody gives a damn about the speed limit. You can go 85 in a 65 and still have people tailgate you. Hell, even the cops that are on the freeway (there are very few) will speed right past you on their normal business.

@cscott0722
@cscott0722 3 жыл бұрын
Not completely accurate. Some bonds are indeed too low, but the outgoing chief and his police poor enforcement along with the council and county unwilling to boost the force to credible size is the real problem. A city the size of Houston should have at least 7500 officers. We only have about 5500. Petty crimes and property crimes go unchecked leading to bigger problems later. We need foot patrols within subdivisions that interact with the citizens and isolate day to day crimes clear them at the officer level.

Should be a police training video. They probably didn’t even realize they were doing it, but the white kid DRIVER was told to get on his knees and the black kid PASSENGER was pushed to ground and knelt on. It goes very deep and it’s disappointing. I love the police and love it when they get their suspect, but they need to realize the difference. It was very blatant.

Correct! I've driven all over the world. In other countries the cop passes and you are led to a safe spot out of traffic or the next freeway exit. That alone would save dozens of policemans' lives here. To not stop is almost impossible because the car ahead can block most moves and doesn't let an open road or faster car tempt you. Other countries allow stops only for serious situations. Police don't "ride herd" for tax revenue and can't use violence unless attacked first which eliminates fears of being stopped. If it was about safety here we would have driver training but it is a buisiness with over 2 million traffic police financing themselves and their employers

@@lisasanchez6694 Thats not true. Most countries pull you over after passing first. That is why you only see these ridiculous chases in the U.S. because somebody didn't stop for a traffic violation. Most U.S. cities have stopped the primitive practice but chases still kill dozens of poorly trained police and innocent bystanders. Most chase fatalities are caused by police. Other countries don't allow stops except for serious offenses and cannot question or use violence so people have less reason to run. We are the only place with the problem so we are obviously doing it wrong

@@erichkorman710 Sure because you’ve never seen a 2 ton vehicle ram a police car or a police car drive along side a suspect vehicle as the suspect shoots at the officers. Police aren’t issued crystal balls to see what the suspect will do next. Officers don’t know the amount of passengers in a vehicle or other dangers the suspect vehicle may commit these officers can break away and assist. Were any vehicles damaged in this pursuit? No. Was anyone hurt? No. How many police officers should’ve been involved? 4, 5, or 6?

Glad that nobody was hurt! I think the officers did a great job and were actually very professional in how they handled everything, including both of the arrests. I would like to point out there was a difference in how they were handcuffed though. The young white man went to his knees and 1 officer cuffed him. The young black man was forced to lay on the ground while he was arrested by 2 officers, one of which was straddling him. They did not cause him any bodily harm and were professional through the whole arrest, I just wanted to point out the difference.

Maybe two or three, you don't need 7, you don't need 14 cops to take down one guy. And then once you have him cuffed, you have like 9 guys piled on top of him. Every time i see this, while i am glad the cops caught him, i see a bunch of brainless morons going "I'm helping" Congrats you caught him, let a couple guys take care of the paperwork and get back out there to stop other crimes.

That cameraman should be sent back to cameraman school!!! Way to many views of the countryside rather than focusing on the chase.

Well of course...not many people. Kinda hard when there's 6 million people in Houston to try and not hit in a chase. However, I hear west Texas cops can outrun anything Kansas has.
