It is great hearing Dalio talk about economic, political, social, the nation and family values. For a person carefully following what he is talking about gives him a tremendous understanding and perspective of what he is facing and probably what he could face in the future, most importantly it gives him a grounding on how how to handle is personal finances and life. Thank you so much Dalio...it's great to have you around

Strength to restrain rather than grasp, is what to be told by education on values, not only text of knowledge.

Thing is to opportunity, they thus don’t expect many to know what Ray said about basics to gain personal strength etc

When Ray said he's 73, it hit me hard, i am an aspiring hedge fund manager and founder ( HAVENCAPITAL). Am still fairly young 27 but looking at what ray has created at Bridgewater, and the planning he has put in for it to survive without him, its just mind blowing. You have inspired future generations Ray thanks, hopefully u live for 30+ more year😭😭❤️❤️❤️❤️

great to hear your sharing bro. I’m currently 19 and I, too, have a dream of being a founder of a hedge fund. I’m living in VietNam where there is not many people do that kind of job in here. So it would be great if we could talk and exchange what we know!

Why not be truthful with the nation and tell them what is needed instead of forcing things on us.

But then make the rules for everyone, including the rich.

Because "we the people" don't want the truth. We don't want to hear that for decades our government has made promises that can't be kept and now the bills are coming due and someone is going to get screwed. The politicians know it but they dare not speak it.

Because the majority of the population can't handle the truth

The only thing I quibble with here, or in commentary by any pundits, is the way the term "populism" is deployed. Populism is used almost always as a pejorative. A negative connotation. As as if when the rank and file of the population suddenly agree on an issue and are galvanized and vocal that is a negative. Isn't that just democracy? When someone uses the word "populism" I interpret that to mean "democracy I do not like".

Populism is the phase before a tyrant is born! Hitler and Mussolini we’re populist leaders, populism is equal to religious fanaticism in politics.

Populism is used opposed to reasoning. Democracy is not just about voting. It should be a continuous process to find a better approach or correct past mistake for the country. If we vote for those we like, we are not using our brain to analyze what is the best for the country. We vote for the benefits of the subgroups. In order to get more votes, both parties try to differentiate themselves with more extreme concepts, leaving the majority of the people near center powerless. I would vote a candidate who I don't like but agree with.

Because the masses are easily swayed either way by populist leaders. They don't think, people just do what the majority does because of the fear of not being accepted or being shunned by society
