Diamiani was a classy boxer, enjoyed watching how he controlled the range. As for Mercer he was getting absolutely schooled... Holmes must have fancied his chances after watching this fight.

Damiani looked unathletic yet he was a good boxer and contender, credit to Mercer he found a way to win.

Dayem....when I first clicked on this fight I was convinced I was watching a Gerry Cooney fight. Same look, same mannerisms, same stance. Uncanny.

Damian was at least 4 points ahead but a punch can change everything and Mercer was powerful.

I'll never understand why Damiani bailed out of the Holyfield fight over a bad ankle. Probably the biggest purse of his career and nobody expected him to win anyway. But it made the Cooper fight, so it all worked out, that one was fun.

I just watched Sammy The Bull talk about this fight! The Mafia got screwed by Mercer winning this fight! The Italian fighter was suppose to have won this fight so he could lose his title in his next fight to a mob backed fighter then their fighter could get a shot at Tyson! Sammy said they never thought to payoff Mercer because they thought he'd be an easy win! He also said the FBI knew of the plan & if their plans would've worked they would've been caught!
