To think. Rayleigh at this age was able to dead stop an admiral, blitz and actually manage to hurt AND keep up with him....prime Rayleigh must be a living nightmare to fight.

Of ocurse he would be stronger, but there's also the problem that we don't know how much Kizaru is actually trying. Also not sure that he usually fights with a sword or just pulled out one to have a sparing match with Rayleigh

@@619Slipki think he just pulled one to spar with kizaru, but navy admirals being the elite soldiers they are, they must've mastered many fighting styles including swordsmanship, we even saw he drawing of young akainu wielding a sword, same with greenbull, fujitora has a sword too and aokiji can also make a ice sword.

@@frickofunky2008 Garp is stronger for sure, but still Rayleigh being able to stop an admiral and not let him move an inch at his age is very impressive. Do also note that Rayleigh was not in active fights for a long time while Garp was a Vice Admiral till Marineford and even now trains marines.

Very good to see the protagonist having consequences. Luffy's victories were funneling down to this situation. Remembering that Zoro had to sacrifice himself earlier.

If there is one reason that I want to live action to have several seasons it's because I want to see the despair that the crew went thru in this arc. The desperation that they had here can only be seen best in live and in real people.

I truly hope they end a season on the crew being scattered. I figure season 1 is East Blue and season 2 will cover Alabasta. I hope season 3 begins with Robin joining and ends with them departing Water Seven on the Rocketman. Enies Lobby deserves a whole season, so season 4 would ideally end with them setting sail on the Sunny. And Season 5 would end with this battle, just to torture the fans who don't know what happens next.

i don't know if you noticed yet, but the voice actor of Kizaru is the same from one and only Joseph Joestar in Stardust Crusaders! also Jet in Cowboy Bebop, he was really awesome!

The Dark King's help is greatly appreciated, indeed. Unfortunately, the situation is still quite desperate.... 😟 BTW, nice catch on Kizaru speaking respectfully to Rayleigh! It's slightly lost in translation, but the admiral is actually being pretty cautious with his opponent in that scene. Not _scared,_ mind you, but there's definitely some trepidation on his part. I mean, it makes sense, after all.... Rayleigh is, for all intents and purposes, an uncrowned fifth emperor. Even an admiral can't take someone like THAT lightly. 😉

After Luffy sees the monumental challenge in front of him, what do you think his ultimate plan will be? 'Taking on an even bigger challenge!' Wouldn't that be about the most Luffy thing ever? I've seen this stretch of episodes quite a few times and I'm still on pins and needles every time I see it.

Guys, Haki being mentioned isn't really a spoiler. It was literally namedropped a few episodes ago (at the auction house), and Jackie & Devi were intrigued and kept theorizing about it. An actual spoiler would be if @GoatAmv actually had explained what Haki does. He didn't, so all is well.

Pacing and directions always have been the problem for this anime. Better directions would have made this episode tighter with better pacing. One example is when kizaru standing in front of zoro. He stands there for like 10 minutes while usopp shoot at kizaru while the others do nothing but screaming. It's understandable if it's in slow mo, or the scene was only for 1/2 minutes, but that scene feels dragged for too long. And not only that scene, there are a lot of scenes like that through out this series.
