Raymond Burr, an actor who lived from 1917 to 1993, is best known for his work on venerable TV shows like Perry Mason and Ironside.
TV viewers loved Burris's iconic shows, but throughout his lifetime they never really got to know him personally. In fact, he sadly had to keep his true self a secret. In his career. Burke created an image of a father and family man stricken by sorrow, but in reality, he was gay and in a committed relationship. Burr had said he'd been married three times and tragically lost his last two wives and a son at a young age, but according to the book Hiding in Plain Sight. Burr utilised made-up catastrophes to evade questions about his life. He did married Isabella Ward once in 1948, but the union was just temporary. There was no proof of the later family members who Burr claimed had died. Actually, he had been dating Robert Benedidedesz since the 1960s.

So what, if he was gay??!! He was a terrific actor with a great demeanor. He really showed that in his acting. That's all I care about. Anyone's sex life is their business, and no one else's!! His character, Perry Mason was and still is my hero in the fictional court system. If more lawyers cared for their clients like Perry did, there might not be as many innocent people wasting their lives in prison today.

WOW😲!!!! That blew me away (no pun, intended)!!! Gay, or not, that man is (and STILL IS) is one of my favorite actors. Especially, ESPECIALLY, in 1956's' 'Godzilla'. And all the swell, sci-fi/horror films, he was in. Gays usually make, for the better actors, as alot of the better ones (an endless, list), were gay also.

What absolute bollocks! All lies! It was a father/son relationship. Robert B addressed Raymond as 'Sir', I saw it myself. I have never met a more honest man in my life or seen so much testosterone! He was an alpha male, 100% heterosexual and had a passion for the truth.

Perry Mason was supposed to have a wife named Mallory. That is why you hear Mallory (as a last name) in several episodes. Notice I am saying Mason, not Burr.
