I think either the I1 or the I2 current flow must be inverted (depending if conventional current or physical current, it does not matter). But at 17:00 it is not possible that they go in the opposite direction when in fact they go in the same.

If you follow the direction of the currents in each mesh you will see that they do in fact go in two different directions. He said himself that current flows in one direction but for mesh analysis there are superimposed currents. Hope this helps😊
