Here I'm comparing the Razer Basilisk Ultimate and the Basilisk V3 Pro. The V3 Pro is clearly an updated mouse, with some subtle design changes and spec improvements that make it worth considering. The Basilisk has been one of my favourite mice for a while, thanks to its comfortable ergonomic design, button layout and features like Hypershift, which allow you to add extra buttons via the software. Now it even supports QI Charging!

This is a nifty mouse with some great features. It has some really cool design features that include an easy to use, RGB capable charging base, a ridiculous battery life, a customisable scroll wheel that you can adjust feedback on and the awesome little paddle.
This is very much a right-handed mouse, but it's also textured and ergonomic, making it really comfortable to use.
The Razer Basilisk is superbly accurate. It uses optical sensors (see here - www.razer.com/gb-en/razer-foc...) that ensure high accuracy and take away the risk of accidental double clicks.

I Bought the Ultimate with wireless dock included in April 2022 when 66% off. Worked perfectly until 3 weeks ago and suddenly kept power cycling. I RMA'd it back to razer even though it was technically a week outside the 2 year warrantee. Razer just sent me the V3 Pro with the new mouse dock pro and I'm so so happy. Razer have great support and have got me as a lifetime customer (on deals)

Great video but I went through the entirety hoping you would go into the feel of both compared. I have no idea what to except with that grainy sand paper look of the v3 pro. The feel in hand is arguably one of the most important aspects tbh.

Noice just got my daughter the Ultimate hope she likes it. The one thing that stopped me from getting the pro is that it’s way to expensive and If I want to get the charging dock I’ll have to spend another 80.00 + dollars. I like that the Ultimate comes with a charging dock. Nice video by the way. Thanks

Late to this vid but just bought a V3 pro to replace my outgoing ultimate which has been a warrior but the dock no longer charges and the battery barely lasts a day now so thought I’d make the move.

Ultimate is the winner imo. you aren't gonna notice the difference with the sensor and Bluetooth while nice isn't necessary. You're getting like 98% the same experience for like less than half the price just a no brainier really.

V3 Pro looks a promising upgrade but my Ultimate is still working great.. Nice comparison as always. This will help me when my Ultimate fails 😀 And I too like the resistance wheel oppose to free wheel, because i do have Wired Basilisk V3 for Work and I dont like the scroll, not even a smidge.

Well, that's why it has both. I use free spin all the time but there are times I don't want it and switch it on the fly. I've been a free spin guy since the day Logitech came out with it.

@@billpii6314First thing I do with any mouse I buy is open it up and remove whatever peice I have to to make it spin freely. I hate tactile feedback in the scroll wheel. It's nice that these companies are giving us this option.

If you have a g-sync monitor: Nvidia says you need to plug in the mouse/dongle into the monitor, not in the pc. This for latency reasons.

The monitor does no processing at all when you move the mouse. All you do by plugging the dongle into the monitor is adding 2m of wire and another usb hub between the dongle and the usb controller on your motherboard.

Probably gonna go for the ultimate as it's significantly cheaper for a similar experience, plus I'm a big fan of the sensitivity clutch and switching it to a button might feel weird. My only issue is whether to buy the ultimate for 90€ or spend 108 to include the charging dock. Is it worth it? I heard somewhere the dock only charges when the PC I'd turned on, which feels redundant as I'll only be charging my mouse when I turn off my PC.

I would say it's worth it especially for that price difference. I've been charging on the dock whenever my computer is asleep over night, for a couple of years now. Using it as a receiver as well has the added benefit that if you ever do run out of charge, you can just unplug the cable from the dock and plug it into the mouse, which works just fine for regular use and casual gaming. If you reduce the RGB lighting to a minimum, then the battery also lasts quite a long time and just occasionally putting it on the dock should be sufficient.

I know this is like 5 months old, but you can change this in Windows power settings so that the USB slots are powered, even when your PC is off.

After watching this, then seeing the Basilisk Ultimate WITH charging stand was marked down to $70 (yeah, $100 off) at Best Buy, I got one of those and a Naga Hyperspeed V2 with the $100 I saved lol. The Basilisk V3 with a charging stand (if you can find it in stock) is $200. The Naga Pro V2 is $180 by itself if you can find it. I got 2 VERY similar mice for less than the price of either one. Now I find out which one I like and give the other one to my wife 😅
