RC ERA C189 MD500 Heli - Easy to fly with optional optical flow sensor

This heli turned up in December, but the weather has only really come good (on the odd day) in the last few weeks. So off we went to finally fly this thing and see how it performs.

Love this Heli. I am ordering one right for Reggie. I have nearly thousand hours in a 500. I just love the real ones and this is nostalgic toy. So far

@@CurryKitten No my this is not my Mil days but corporate business. It was definitely a little hot-rod. 140 kts and very nimble. I used to call it the buzzing bee.

'We've got rid of it' 🙂 I guess it's a good beginners heli that looks like a realish heli. Nice review. Shows what terrible weather we have had this year!

The weather continues to be bad. One day of sun = rain for the next few days! Yeah - it's ok to fly around. Just doesn't really work for me

2 things, I think it has a direct drive main motor and the other is I think the off switch is so you can turn off and on the optical flow sensor, I think??

Awesome flying and review, Wayne! 😃 I don't know, but it looks like a great first helicopter for someone! Perhaps even for me... 🤔 About the stop button, my impression is that you long pressed it for it to work. Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊

I don't think it was a long press. I was just pressing it multiple time and one of those times it went beep and fell out of the sky. Maybe good to begin with, but a bit dull if you've flown much before IMO

The scale appearance is the appeal of the C189 it doesn't do 3D flight but it looks great!

Right on, thankfully they make both 3D high-performance hellies and scalars too, when it comes to RC hellies it's an Ideal World.

The RC ERA C189 a very nice looking heli I have one myself it won't do much in the way of 3D acrobatic flight but it'll do a little bit of fancy flying!
