Finally got this cool scale MD500 Helicopter (Been waiting for over 2 months since ordering)
It’s big enough to carry the speed meter so I decided to see how fast it was.
Such a fun and easy to fly helicopter!!!! Has auto take off/landing and altitude hold.

Thanks for the comment. This is another nice looking scale helicopter from RC ERA. It’s bigger than the C186 & C187. Due to the larger size , having brushless powe & collective pitch it flies better, even with a little wind. It has altitude hold and auto take off/landing so I’m less likely to crash it. Hopefully the next one they come up with will be awesome too.

Some weird posters here. I'm 49 and I just ordered this TOY. I can't wait to take this TOY to the park and fly it around. If anybody asks me if it's a drone, I'll say "No. It's a TOY!"

Update: 12/21/23 well mine got here but I was one of the unfortunate , many as it turns out , that had control issue built in the board or transmitter who knows... $170 gone in less than 3 minutes Rc ERA that's a pretty good track record overall I would give it a few months for the ripple effect to reach the Factory so they can address whatever issues are present before I would buy one. for me I'm not sure I'll buy another one @ $300 total investment is painful ...and at that price level I can enter into the DJI class It WAS pretty though

I got one and you have to keep in mind the saying that you get what you pay for. IMO it’s better than a simulator on a cold or rainy day. It’s a small, great looking TOY heli!!

idk about a toy, its collective pitch and you can buy all the parts for it. it has a 6 axis gyro, but that doesnt make it a toy. not everything has to be a carbon fiber goblin 700

Yeah, it’s bigger than the other scale helicopters from RC ERA and has brushless motors so I’m happy with the speed. Not super fast but decent for what it is.

I have a c189 with weapons. when I fly the c189 its skaking alot in the wind. the missile tubes being flat so I drilled them out to lesson the air drag. when the air hits the misslle tubes the air has to go around it creating a drag on the helicopters air flow over those tubes.now when I fly the c189 it flys better air will passes threw the holes on both ends . drilling the hole was not hard to do. just make sure you hold to missle tube so you dont damage them.I use a dremel drill to do it.if you buy a new one do it before you put them together.but its up to you.

I got mine last week, it's not going to last. You are constantly trimming it and with even light wind it drifts like a feather. There is no downward camera for holding position but they drilled the hole to pretend it does. It's for zero wind outdoors or indoor flight. It was a waste of money, you have to assemble the weapons pylons with very tiny screws and install all decals. Stay away unless they put out an updated version.

Sorry to hear about your experience. I’ve flown mine in a light wind on the high rates and it does okay. Yeah, unfortunately sometimes quality control is hit or miss with the new models and you take a chance with the first versions. I also got a black one. I’ve only flown them a few times without any issues yet.

It is a bit noisy, must be working hard. Hopefully it won’t burn out. I’ve also have a black one. I’ve flown each about five times now and no problems yet. Very enjoyable to fly in my opinion.

That is a nice looker and zips along. All the helicopters I have had struggle in the slightest breeze and are really intended for indoor use, but they were all cheap toy-grade 🤔

Thanks for the comment. This one is very good in my opinion. Looks and flies great. It does need some space to fly at full speed. It does have 3 speed modes so it can fly slower if needed.

RC ERA made this MD500 with counter clockwise rotating main rotor blades, and tail rotor on the left side. which is how the real helicopter is. most RC helicopters have clockwise rotating main rotor with the tail rotor on the right side. so, RC ERA has put some effort in making this heli look scale.

well..l read th; comments...it IS a toy...but a pretty cool one at that...l own/ed most everything below DJI grade. but fell in love with th' RCEra series Helis and the C129V2 heli is amazing...Great flier/batt life/range/POWER & l put a YKK/Wolfhoop FPV cam in it and have honestly had More dependable enjoyment from it than most anything else I've owned . sooo waiting to do the same with this ...be here 12/15 ...l feel like a kid again ...ill post a vid about it & share a link if that;s OK w 200Silver

Thanks for the comments. Yeah, I’d be happy to watch a video. Toy Grade vs Hobby Grade is often subjective and a matter of opinion. To me, toy grade stuff is an “as is” item without an easy way to repair or upgrade. Relatively cheap and disposable if it stops working. This one has spare parts available so if something goes wrong, it’s repairable. So I’d say it’s hobby grade, but not a “pro” level 6ch 3D helicopter, but more of a decent medium level heli.

I had one & stopped working all of a sudden idk why but power it on & nothing happens only makes a beep sound thats it no lights functioning like its dead servos don't work neither nice looking heli idk if i trust it anymore tempted to buy another one but i don't trust um tho

Sorry to hear about your bad experience. I also got a black one. I’ve only flown each a few times without any issues. Hopefully you can get yours fixed. Sometimes with these….uh…..“value priced” RCs quality is hit or miss, especially with a new model.

Im sure you trashed your copter by now, its cannt handle one crash bey bey $200” i crashed totally 4 to 5 drones, plus a rc tank one track keep running’s 😢😢😢
