This is awesome! I'm a huge fan of the movie.

This is by far the most stable flight of a RC turbine helicopter I’ve seen to date. From start up, take off and landing. Awesome build and great piloting skills.

Wow John Badham would have flipped if he'd seen this back in the day. Even the turbine sounds like the full size Blue Thunder. Beautiful work.

One of the things that crosses my mind when I watch these vids are...how MANY have learned to fly the ‘HARD’ way? How many downed RC aircraft have had to be Rebuilt or replaced. None the less,it’s very cool to watch good pilots take them through their pace

This one is WAY more realistic than the one they used at the end of the movie for the loop scene. You could see the flybar and paddles. I guess they didn't have scale three bladed rotors let alone turbine engines for r/c helicopters back in 1983. These were just pipe dreams for us back in the day... There was a company (I dont remember who) that kitted this helicopter briefly back in 84-85. I dont think it sold very well as it was astronomically expensive for that time. I think it was in the realm of $1300 or so... This ship is a beauty. If I was judging it for scale competition the ONLY thing I would take him to task over is the armor on the underside of the tail boom. In Blue Thunder the armor had a crossed hatch look to it. Kind of like a cyclone fence. That is the only "flaw" that I see as a Blue Thunder movie nut. This thing is really outstanding though and I'm just nit picking! LOL Plus--Where the hell is JAFO?

Beautiful model, great flying. There's nothing like a turbine for that authentic sound. The only thing I must criticise is that it looks too clean.

Great flying and beautiful heli. One thing I like about RC helicopters is how the characteristics of how they fly, makes them look so real in flight, as compared to planes that always seem a bit jerky and skittish, especially on takeoffs and landings.

Wow it's beautiful.

Great flying of scale heli. I like that fast flying and turns, man, thats flying of an attack machine. And hovering, absolutely great, mainly these multiple turns are very difficult because of the turbine thrust. Big difference to electro heli. With a attack heli you could even show Immelmann's and Loopings, not easy too, but works with my turbine H500e in scale 1:4 ;-). Requires very smooth flying style (without 3-axis stabilisation)
