Well look what’s back! Our Traxxas Rustler 4x4 project that we thought was completed has been revived thanks to a number of new options parts that have recently been released. Our project was a huge success and has helped a lot of people with their Traxxas Rustler 4x4 upgrade path. Now we’re going to help some more by showing you the new aluminum shock towers and suspension links from the Traxxas option parts list. We also have some new tools to show you too! Good timing. Just bought a base model brushed Rustler 4x4, i find it more fun buying the base and upgrading accordingly instead of getting pre upgraded. IK you save some money but its more fun for me

Wish they will make over the wheel bodies for this car. Sucks the slash has more options than the rustler.

Great looking upgrades. I'm new to the r/c world. I've heard that alot of the slash 4x4 parts are interchangeable with the rustler 4x4 parts is this true.

Kristen Donze yes this is true but you should be careful because some parts are not the same, but I think 70 % is the same but I might be wrong

So I was going to buy an arrma but I decided to get the rustler. In my opinion it is better to have the Traxxas because every store has the replacement parts and there are WAY more upgrade options for Traxxas than Arrma. Arrma is not bad, just depends on what you want .

Hopefully you see this: I have a Traxxas Hoss, and I have been following your videos for ideas on what I should upgrade, and I'm all about making it stronger, and if it looks prettier, then that is just a bonus... anyway, what I was wondering is if the aluminium shock towers are worth it, they are quite pricy I'm my country and I if I make the shock towers aluminium, then everything around becomes the week spots, I'd rather not break my bulkheads... So has everything been holding up? and does it at all increase stability on the truck? (does less flex mean the truck is better?)

Another option for upgrading the shock towers is to use RPM shock towers. RPM makes parts for a variety of Traxxas vehicles using a special formulation of plastic that can flex easily to absorb shock, making it an excellent option for increasing durability. They do cost a little bit more than the stock Traxxas parts, but they're much cheaper than aluminum.

Very nice, but those shock towers are dumb with those long shock posts extending out... It's a significant leverage (especially with shocks bottoming out) on an aluminium part that's not elastic and resilient as a reinforced plastics. Sticks out (literally) like a sore thumb. Who ever even broke a plastic Rust4x4 shock tower? Just bling, no bash.

@rcdriver_online , I'm upgrading the a-arms to rpm on my 2wd rustler xl-5 model, would you please reply with the part numbers for the front & rear camber links and the toe/steering turnbuckle links , I plan too put a set of rear wheels/tires on the front, I would appreciate it , Thank you

Great video, as always! I changed my Merv's turnbuckles for aluminum but ended up going back to the plastic originals (basically for bashing) because they bent and the thread dusted. Speaking of Bashing... I'm looking for an alternative to my e-Revo 2.0 for skate park bashing. What do you think about the MT-410? Do you think it is a good model in terms of durability?

BorgRC I’ve been impressed with the gears and transmission. Not a fan of the big x maxx servo, the plastic drive shafts, and the high center of gravity chassis. It rolls over easily from what I’ve seen and I don’t think it’s worth 550 dollars, it’s way over priced. I’d just get a stampede or slash and upgrade it

Timmy Saleik Really this price of Maxx is very high ... Has Granite or Outcast 4x4 on my radar too, I don't know ... I really like my E-revo 2.0 but I would like something a little smaller and more durable, here in Brazil for getting pieces is horrible!

Hi there. I was wondering of you could help me with my Redcat Racing RC Car. My Redcat is a Redcat Blackout SC Pro. My car sin't running at all and the controller is flashing the green light and the car won't move. Near the fan is a part that lights up green when it is usually ready to run but is now lighting up red. Is there something wrong with my parts or the controller? If you could get back to me, that would be great. Thanks a lot

Kevin Willson that is a telemetry expander, you can connect it with the Bluetooth app, and you can also buy sensors for temperature, rpm, voltage and speed

Most are interchangeable however, there are a few differences between the 2 vehicles, depending on if you're talking about the 2WD or 4x4 models.

To my knowledge, I don't know of any aftermarket company that makes that type of shock tower for the 2WD Rustler

I generally prefer RPM plastic parts whenever possible. My 2WD Rustler has a lot of RPM parts and the only aluminum part on it is the motor plate. It's been this way for almost 5 years and the durability has been excellent.

the rustler 4x4 body is terrible to puut on. the revo 2.0 is a little easier , adn the Xmaxx is the easiest fo them all. seamless install. i hate the rustler body
