Yes, put a cockpit in please, especially considering that it will be a display model! Regarding the Supra kit: May you please keep the body as a spare but paint it silver like another 1995 Tamiya model, the Blitz Supra? 🙂

Really like the intro on this episode Gav! It's great to see the history of the car to fully understand the reasons why Tamiya choose to produce the RC and scale model. I recall it being very popular back in the day. Often parents would buy this kit for their kids as the standard Mondeo was their family car. Anyway, great channel, will look forward to more RC content like this 👍

That looks mint. I bought one new back in the nineties along with a Honda NSX. Painted mine red as the Honda was blue and wanted different colour. Since got a repro shell but apart from the side stickers all the others weren't opaque so look gray.

I have to say, you are very good at painting up RC bodies. I'm very protective over the Squash Van because you did an awsome job on that one as well. Maybe you could have a side gig, painting up RC bodies for people. Just a thought. Looking forward to seeing how this stacks up to the BT-01. I've heard the BT-01 is horrible and has a ton of slop throughout the chassis. It seems to me, that Tamiya has gotten worse with time, rather than better. Like you said, this vintage car came with oil shocks, and most now come with friction ones?

Cool video! Paul & I have mucked about with a few things over recent years, took our Nissan March (don't laugh it punches WAY above its weight) to Leadfoot a couple of times (NZs version of Goodwood but now dead) helped with a couple of things on his fathers Red Toyota Supra - there's a connection between your next project and this one! Paul has an extremely low mileage road going version of this Mondeo with under 1000Kms on the clock. I'm going to have a crack at building an RC version of our March and have a couple of bodies so may do one in the grahics we had for Leadfoot when Paul dove it & one in its current guise :) I should never have re started this RC car thing, going to get expensive........

L&L Models do this body & they also do their own replicas of the wheels. I don't have it, but I do have quite a few of their other bodies & they're pretty decent.. The quality is a bit hit or miss though.. They offer a pretty large range of touring/street & rally bodies with some very cool liveries.! They're increasingly offering their bodies with 3D printed mirrors, wings, spoilers etc as opposed to their older bodies with lexan parts... So look out for the different versions. The only other thing to look out for are the lines left in the bodies from where the two piece molds meet, they can be quite pronounced & could be annoying to you if you're looking for perfection. I don't know of any way of getting rid of them.. Their decals can either be spot on or a little bit iffy... But they're overall good.! I believe it's because they're transitioning from body molds & decal sheets that were designed a while ago by other people to recently designed & made molds by newer people.?! If you're looking for an extremely good looking body to use on your daily driver I can't recommend L&L highly enough, if you're looking for absolute perfect, I'd perhaps look elsewhere.!.. But be prepared to pay a lot more.! I'd also chech back often because their newer bodies are much betther than their older ones.!

Nice one, I've got one in my collection, not minty fresh though sadly but not bad. This and the escort pilot are my fave tamiyas .

RapidTac!!! The answer to all you decal problems. Spray on to clean. Spray again for a wet seal. While the sticky side of the decal is wet, I use a set of twizzers to handle my decals. The wet application makes it very easy. Use a gentle microfiber towel to soft wipe away any air bubbles. Love me some RapidTac.

Total pain to cut out all the stickers but so worth it look mint.
