A heat gun is your best friend in these winter months and on new builds.. Warm up the plastics and the screws for easy assembly and to reduce later stress cracks.

Clear silicone oil on the screws. Also they build up heat being screwed in. So slow and steady. A few quick turns will get hot and bind. If you do decide to tap the threads only do 90% so the last 10% can bite.

I'm still 50/50 on buying. Don't really have the funds or space but I wanted the Dark Impact White Edition and didn't get it, have regretted ever since and this fills the gap.

I have to say this leaves me cold, I get the history but, I still can't say I'd want one, it feels like a promo piece, I can see how if you have history with the car it could appeal, but not for me. Enjoyed the video so as ever thanks Gavin.

I get it. It's supposed to be a shelf queen 👸 and vintage and driven lightly if one desires, but some of the QC and design choices are suspect. If one of the C hubs breaks, you are screwed, need new hinge pins, and e clips just to replace a hub. The clear design is cool, but this is a pass for me. Love these types of build videos, by the way.

I was speaking to you at my LHS the other day👍 and I luckily didn’t have any issues with building mine but that screw that give up on you I had to tap it in because it was really stiff to turn from the off and the heat that came from it was unbelievable and how small are those four screws in the idler gears(ridiculously small) and like you it’s a stunning buggy but didn’t really enjoy the build much🤔 if you don’t like e-clips it might not be the buggy for you?

It did look like quite a good build, and the more I see of the RC10CC the more I like it. I still wouldn't buy one though, I'd rather spend the money on something that I can run, not really into the old shelf queens....

I think these can be run,associated said the material is stronger than sls,I have one coming and I'm going to drive the shit out of it,we're hobiests,I'm sure there's other A Arms that will fit it.

Interesting choice that AE made to release a car in a material that really only allows it to be a shelf queen. It's sad to think that in 20 years these parts will all be yellow too.

More comments help no? I wanted to say honestly I don’t like the look of the original 1984 gold pan but in the clear it’s grown on me. I love the performance and own many Team Associated buggy’s it and Tamiya and kyosho my top three favorite brands. I’m gonna get one and have a silver scheme just touches hopefully it comes out nice and can beat the Optima mid in the cobalt green.

The nice thing is that Thunder Tigre/Team Associated seems really super nimble with manufacturing and building to demand. Look at what they have done with Element RC. For Element there’s a new variant almost every 2-3mo on existing platforms. They have the Bushido which is short wheelbase as well as the 12.3 and 12.8 wheelbase. They did an independent front suspension 4 years ago and just redesigned it for better performance. They do anodizing well also so they can do the bronze like they do on the newer cars or do the classic orange gold. Given that we know they have new molds for the plastic now I’d like to see another RC10 release that has the Stealth transmission, bearings and gold pan chassis. Their new plastics formula is similar to others coming out of Taiwan which is nice. They could call it the Heritage Edition or something like that. If any company can turn on a dime in RC it’s these guys. I could also see them doing a car to compete with the PR S1 RM or Dirt Master given that they have the classic bodies available now.

They already did a car to compete with the Dirt Master and PR and Genova, it’s called the RB 10 and it came out a couple years ago. It is on the RC 10 B4 chassis which is the same time frame as the rb5 which is what the Dirt Master is on. Kyosho and them are playing catch up in this category. (Except Genova and PR are newer so they are riding the wave.)

I pre-ordered one from towerhobby and am still waiting for the shipment. My guess is I will get it when I have completely forgotten about it (as was the case with the Mercedes C11). As I have never built or run the original RC-10 or the re-release, I have a full intention to build and run this one, but I have heard you should not really run it. They do not even include ball bearings, I believe and what the heck is that....

Dude I’m going to get one ☝🏼 and race it against the cobalt green optima mid don’t care about classes I just want to see which would and not on a track that’s tiny and turns every second. A long square track with regular Long Island grey clay . Put really good tires on the RC10 and it’s got a chance someone try it or it will be my first video. Hopefully my little team can spread the hobby because it’s a positive hobby and you actually learn to fix problems on you’re own so I want to expose as many people to this wonderful hobby and these buggy’s and trucks of today are freaking awesome so much fun. You can fly or have a boat or sun if by suitable water like a lake pond . Even the Long Island sound when calm. Cool vid beautiful buggy and great job . I’m subscribed yay I want a cookie 🍪 and a medal 🏅 😅. God bless.

Yes you can run it but the parts are not as flexible as the stock plastics.

That it really does look amazing with the clear parts. Seems like a bit of a missed opportunity for Associated to not have all the fasteners / hardware / driveline in stainless steel. That would look amazing.

If those clear parts are made from polycarbonate, they are likely to crack around constant stress points such as self tapping screws. It maybe worth thread tapping first if you want to avoid this. Also, PC plastic degrades with hydrocarbon based oils. Not really that suitable for running IMO.

I built my TLR LMT a few days ago. It’s missing 4 bearings for the rear hubs. I’m still waiting to hear from TLR customer service. I’m starting my Schumacher LD3S today.
