In this video I test the Top Speed of my Traxxas Slash 4x4 (aka) “Ultimate Basher Build” after Installing a Brand New Power System….it is currently running a Castle Creations Copperhead 10 (4s Capable) Esc and a Castle 1412 (3200kv) Sensored Brushless Motor…Top Speed Test on 3s and 4s Lipo!

41 on 3s maybe 55 on 4s. Awesome job with the build! You had to tweek it a bit but you got it in and it works great.

Cool video with your slash 4x4 UBB, I recently got a 6s Slash 4x4 in a trade for my traxxas maxx v1 and converted into a 4s HW Max 10 SCT 3200KV Platinum spec machine. Even though i'm a little unsure about buying a 3rd Slash 4x4 but i still want a new ultimate since it's too expensive to build mine up compared to a new ultimate machine.

I have the hobbywing sct 10 esc and motor combo. For what ever reason the ESC is 4s capable but the motor is only 3s capable. ☹️ 4s looks like a ton of fun!

Yeah….as long as the esc is 4s capable…it should be able to run 4s….you just can’t expect the motor to hold up to 4s long term

Put the GPS somewhere up front. The added weight will help to keep the front wheels on the ground. At least you'll get a couple of mph more before it invevitably parachutes and flips on its lid.

Good advice! There is very little weight to that gps but it might make a small difference

Id did the same thing but 4s with a 2400kv motor and a 26tooth pinion and 35 spur gear. A rocket

Hey Nolan your slash is LCOG right? Wouldn't that help with the parachuting?

This slash actually doesn’t have the LCG chassis….I prefer this chassis for bashing though

If you geared up a couple teeth on the pinion I'm sure you'd hit 60 no problem, you could also try putting the hoons on for speed runs just so you can see how fast it is

Yeah geared up a bit would help….hoons won’t mount on this unless I bought 17mm hex adapters…which I probably won’t do….since long term it’s not really for speed runs…it’s for bashing….but thanks for the recommendations

A 50mph basher, I say call it good and go have some fun. any faster will just be $$$$ for broken parts😅

I definitely don’t think fasters gonna necessarily help…..since I can’t get up to those speeds without going airborne lol…..if I do gear up…it’s simply to get rid of some of that low end torque….it feels almost like too much torque….the thing does wheel stands and can’t stay on the ground at like half throttle….also more likely to break parts with the launches

It’s holding up well….the motor shaft broke though…..I’d recommend getting the 5mm motor shaft

It’s really hard to keep the slash on the ground once you get above 45mph…..the body basically turns into a parachute

I think you should drive that car with 3S. That's what the Slash is made for. 👍

Do you think the copperhead 10 ESC and 2400KV motor will work with it ? Or you think the 3800KV better

2400kv is pretty low….it would work but you’d have to gear it up a lot to get decent top end speed

If you go with mamba x pro on 4s should be around 90 with that gearing

Put a 22 t pinion and 54 spur and some steel belted or foam tires you should be just about 70ish mph

Belted probably won’t be great for bashing compared to unbelted tires….not as much cushioning

How does the 15/54 setup handle? I just got this same motor and esc and want a solid all rounder that doesn't raise Temps because I fried the stock brushed motor. I did get it used and it's the old old slash with on board audio. Which I need to figure out how to wire up because I love it! Any thoughts on gearing would be much appreciated!

Gear it up i think 18 / 55 is the biggist pinion you can run in that chasis mine is also wheelie happy also on 6s

Great info . Hmmm maybe 18-19T and earplugs in centre diff to stop the front tyre balloon effect . Top speed on 4s …. 63mph .

Thanks! I definitely don’t want do the earplugs….that’ll lock the center up too much…..maybe a thicker weight fluid?….I feel like it’s already kind of a thick fluid cause this things does wheel stands from a stop without really even trying…..

They said to put low pinions but it’s not fun:( rn sitting at 21/86 2wd have yet to throw a 3s in it but rn sitting at 35-40 on 2s decently hot
