66" Finnish Vesikko RC Submarine Overview - The German Type II Prototype!

Жыл бұрынVesikko was the first boat of the new German fleet of submarines, built in secret through a false front in the years leading up to WW2.
This RC submarine is modeled after this boat and the video goes into the hull and internal layout, as well as footage from her maiden voyage.

I live near the Vesikko and have visited her multiple times in my life. I highly recommend visiting it, you get to see the interior etc.

Me too! That one was sold as hull only, and finished up by the customer. Then he ended up deployed and sold it back to me as a fully built and RTR model. Once I have it back, I'll be showing more details and video of it in action!

Algorithm brought me here. Didn't even occur to me R/C subs even existed. Not really surprising, but what is surprising is that it seems like they're almost perfected. This thing is really cool. The auto recovery feature is a good idea, I was wondering how that was dealt with.

Hi Bob-This Type II hull looks more like a Type IID vs the prototype of the German Type II? The Vesikko did not have saddle tanks. Yes, I know....I'm a rivet counter.

The model started out as the IID and the customer requested the change in paint, knowing that it wasn't perfect.

Not 100% corect history. The Dutch company was founded by german engineers after WW I.
