Battle of the P320 modules. AXG vs. M1811

This is a comparsion alot of you have asked me for. A few months back when we dropped the review of the Brouwer LLC M1811 frame. There were alot of comments on how it compared to the AXG legion frame.
Well today we asnwer that question on the Channel. I have a clear favorite, but it was pretty dam close.

Brouwer is coming out with a metal M1811 frame. That review will be more of an apples to apples comparison.

Very true. Depending on the aluminum it will be interesting to compare the weight. The grip angle will most likely be the same. So I feel the comparison will be between recoil impulse and weight. I am looking forward to the release.

@@nyptbfan the only reason I don’t run aluminum frames. Is because I’m worried that in a class or Training If dent or ding the Module will become sharp. But for a match pistol I feel the aluminum is a solid upgrade.

@@user-tw8ov I like the grip angle of the m1811 frame because it’s what I know. But for someone getting their first complete gun. The AXG series pistols is a solid choice.

I like them both. Picked up my AXG last week. Smooth shooter with slim amount of recoil. Gets on target quickly. Can't go wrong with either one really. Preference is the only difference.

I just ordered the AXG grip as i've been eyeing it for a while and I found a good black friday sale. I may get an M1811 as well and see that i like better and either sell the other or just build another 320.

Would love to see a full size module from Brouwer. I prefer my grip module to sit flush with the end of my comp...just a personal preference. Nice review man, great watch

You have to use the proper slide to make this happen. They have a new metal frame coming out. But if you are not using the proper slide and comp combo the over hand will always be there 🤙

Using grease and shooting the guns will help wear-in the trigger nicely. My factory XTEN trigger with nearly 7k rds fired is phenomenal! Day and night different than my NIB XTEN!

maybe its my long neck but I dont get the bore height issue on the axg pro, and have with glocks in the past. the sight picture feels natural for me

The comparison is 100% opinion driven. I run or have ran every sig p320 frame variant on the market currently. To the tune of a case of 9mm every 2-4 weeks. USPSA, Steel, and a wealth of training.. I have an x compact setup on a Brouwer frame with a Herrington comp and Romeo 1 pro. The best 320 comp currently available in my opinion.. This pistol is super lightweight and FAST! I like the way it’s balanced vs the heavier sig tungsten infused and AXG frames. I’m willing to bet most saying they want a heavier gun cannot transition with it.. I own a Spectre comp that recently had the compensator break out on the top forward section of the comp. Sig wouldn’t sell me a new one which is bs and only adds to the reasons why I won’t give sig anymore of my money. I run these is Alien Gear RF Duty holsters (bottom cut out a bit to fit 5” length slides)

The Spectre trapped lead worse than any other comp I own. Not a big deal to clean out.. After a season of USPSA (15k rounds ish) the comp split out when cleaning it. Same brush I have been using (plastic handle) inserted from the top. With minimal sideways pressure the comp broke out.. It appears to be pot metal….. Regardless I called sig and asked if I could buy a new one. They stated the only thing they could do is offer me 10% off an entire Spectre comp slide assembly.. that wasn’t happening! Slapping an aftermarket comp on the gun isn’t really doable as the front sight post is in the comp and the way the original comp mounts. I had to mill the slide and replace the barrel. Doing this also required recoil spring tuning as the Herrington is a much more effective competitor.

Why have "P320's are adult Legos" as a theme if you are going to immediately say one gun has a better trigger than the other. I feel like it's a miss not to swap the FCU's.

⁠@@brianstouffer9001I think the point is you aren’t going to buy a axg legion for 1300-1400$ to change frames and stuff on it you’re going to buy a cheaper model and upgrade it. obviously you can do triggers but I don’t really understand how you can have a “fair” comparison of a stock and modded gun

After trying the AXG, TXG and wilson Grip I came to the conclusion that the Icarus Socom Grip Module is still the best option out there for your P320 :D you should try that one !

It’s an aluminum version of the factory grip. Not really one that interest me for a 320. I will try some next year. Due to popular request.

How do you like the Mischief P320 Commander? It’s an aluminum 1911 angle that weighs a bit more than the AXG. Also has proprietary removable grips.

They are constantly out of stock. So I have given up on getting one for now. I doubt it weighs more if it’s an aluminum. Module

You would have ask Parker Mountian Machine. This is their Tardigrade slide. It comes comeplete from them.

It's not really about a better buy. The Tardigrade is double the price. But it's also double the performance.

I haven't tried AXG yet, but it didn't take me long to ditch Icarus grip and go back to wilson. I just see no real benefit in adding extra weight.

Recoil impulse in dampened pretty heavily with aluminum modules. At the end of the day it’s ounces. So it no weight you feel. It’s all preference. A slightly heavier pistol will also track and return better with both irons and Red dot.

Wilson grip for me, is too narrow and too slippery. I have not tried the Icarus yet. Tough yo get find them In stock

I also don’t care for the WC frames. To narrow and slippery is exactly my issues also. I have but full size and compact 320 WC frames sitting here that I cannot give away 😆

No. Not a true 1911 grip angle And the ploymer 80’s are pretty poor quality, have holster fitment issues etc.

I keep watching this to remember if I should do the m1811 and it keeps reminding me why I love the OEM grip angles more. I see the red dot faster with the oem over the steeper angled guns like Glocks because of not having to overtorque my wrist to drive the muzzle down to find the dot. I fear I’d be doing some of that with the m1811.

The m1811 is a 1911 grip angle more of a natural point of aim with Red dot. To drive the muzzle down add pinky pressure.

Im honestly not impressed with the legion 320 triggers. Its just more marketing bs. I have an old model x5 back when they had numerous colors available and had the pure poly frames. All of those x5’s came with a slightly cleaner trigger than the normal 320. When i compare the legion trigger to whats in my x5, its identical.

Brouwer is just over the top price wise. Doesnt make sense even though I dig it. WC is probably the best option for cost and performance.

You get what you pay for. No magwell with Wilson, they are the same shape as a standard P320 frame. They need to be re-textured and you have to follow what's already on the frame. The M1811 frame yes may be more money. It also has more features. When you really compare price. The Wilson frame should be about 30 bucks for what you get

@@rdrgear Yep thats a fact. Always skating between a good deal and best bang for your buck without compromising on quality and benefits. I have the M18 California version (compact). I can already tell I hate the grip. Does Brouwer only sell the full length?

Not a dog in this fight as I have limited experience but vs x-carry grip or OEM, my money is on the P80 grip. Absolutely love it.

@@jqsoul4667 I have tried them. 1. Not the same grip angle as a 1911, not a fan of the rail design, no options for a Magwell, and very little holster support for those who already own a P320.

I really want to give the brouwer a try, but there is no justifying the cost on this. They need to scale production and get costs down. There is no comparing a polymer frame to a steel/aluminum frame. Starting price on the base brouwer (bare bone) is $90. $200+ for the laser etched model. It's another $48 add-on for a mag release button and manual safety cut. The Wilson combat grip module is $67. Thats $22 cheaper and includes a mag release button and manual safety cut free of charge. You load up the brouwer with all the bells & whistles and it's $300+. That's AXG territory.

If you already have a 320. You would Swap the mag release. Sure the Wilson is cheaper but one you have them both in hand you feel how overpriced the Wilson module is.
