You should also watch his performance of this one when he was on the Singer show. He got sick andthe dr told him not to hit those high notes and you can tell the difference but he still knocked it out of the park!

Thank you for this reaction sir I can't recall how many times I cried for this song. Even after a few hundred times and watching the reactor...I'm still in tears. The loved and sacrifice of a parents are beyond words. Dimash clearly felt it and said that he was shivering listening to this song for the first time and he was only 10 years old back then (from his interview) and the original singer Han Hong called him to give him her support before he sing this song for the first time. Correct: “Daybreak” - At his first concert in Bastau: This song tells the sad story of a Chinese boy (Quon Yan), who along with his family, suffered a cable car accident in Xingyi city in Guizhou province, where many people died, but the boy's parents held him up with their hands and he survived, though the parents died. The song was written and composed by the boy's adoptive mother (Han Hong) and Dimash sang the song for the first time in Mandarin on “The Singer 2017”, but he had a sore throat and sang through injections. The doctor said that if he sang high notes, he would never sing again... He sang! Then he made this wonderful version, already cured, at his show in Bastau!

The story is hearbreaking. And Dimash telling it is raising it to the sky.

He said that when he first heard this song at 10, his whole body was trembling. As someone who is extremely close to his family, it’s a very emotional song for him. He first sang it on The Singer and he lost his voice the night before the performance. He had to sing it anyway, through injections, with immense pain in his throat, and said it felt like he had swallowed broken glass. Miraculously, his voice came back for the performance, but as soon as he got off the stage he couldn’t even talk anymore. So The Singer performance is particularly emotional because he has this visible physical pain in addition to the sadness of the song.

When Dimash first heard of the story and song, he was deeply moved. He was in China at the time and determined that he must perform it. While he loves all humanity, he has a special place in his heart for little ones. There is video after video of Dimash holding children and toting them around. Both of his siblings are younger than he and he did the same thing with them. Very tender hearted.

Okay, so the boy was just a toddler when this happened. A Chinese reactor told us the story as he reacted to Dimash's cover. The parents realised that if they held their toddler above their heads, their bodies would take the impact of the crash and baby might survive. Their sacrifice paid off. Han Hong on hearing this actially took a cable car ride to understand what happened, was so overcome by their love, decided to dedicate a song to that love and writes a song from a childs perspective as she also lost her father at a very young age, When Dimash heard this song as a young pre_teen he said he trembled. He's always done the song justice. He and Han Hong chatted before his first cover of it on The Singer competition. ❤

Dimash hasn't performed this song on video since. When he sang it on "The Singer", he was pretty sick. He could not speak and needed throat injections, the Dr said "no high notes". He nailed it! Everyone was emotional. When he went backstage, he put his hand to his throat. 🙁

This concert was given to him by his hometown as a welcome home and as a thank you for his huge success in China. 30. 000 people from all over the world took part. In preparation for the concert, Dimash worked so hard that he lost a lot of weight. His family was very concerned.... but the concert was great. It blows your mind! In 1999 14 people died in a cable car accident in China. The parents of a little boy lifted their son to safety, and they themselves died. Yes Han Hong's lyrics are powerful, but then exponentially enhanced by Dimash's expert storytelling and micro-intentional delivery. Everything, from his clothing, hairstyle, facial expressions, gestures - embody the terrified confused child. You don't 'see' his 6'3" frame! 😆What you see and hear is the anguish of the little boy - especially when he shifts his voice into that higher tone. Just a beautiful performance of a deeply moving true story that is dear to Chinese hearts, but touches all hearts. The water effect behind him BTW is referencing the site where the cable car fell, which was right beside a waterfall. 14 people died in that accident in China in 1999. (# In a terrible 'echo' of this, another cable car accident occurred in Sept of 2021 in Italy, where also 14 people died, and the sole survivor was a 6 year old boy...) Again, a failed equipment maintenance issue. # Dimash first sang 'Daybreak' as part of his series of performances in the 2017 Chinese Singer Competition. Interesting to see the comparison, but not a fair one, as he had a throat infection at the time, and on the morning of the performance had completely lost his voice. He was taken to a local hospital where he had treatment and injections (presumably Cortisone?} injected directly into his throat / cords to reduce the swelling. The Doctor was reluctant to authorise him to sing on the day, and sternly told him he "must avoid singing high notes." Dimash!? Yeah RIGHT! { When I watch that performance MY heart is in MY throat - as he pushes this unique precious voice higher and higher. How close was he to damaging his vocal chords permanently!? I don't know - but sends shivers down my spine.}

Dimash is the greatest storyteller that ever lived as far as I am concerned. He puts his whole heart into each one and feels the emotions of what the song is saying. This one is a truly heart breaking. I remember this accident and it gives me chills to the bone every time I hear it.
