Join Katie in this quick body-shaking exercise to banish nervous energy. 🌬️ Whether you're post-stressful meeting or gearing up for a challenging task, this exercise is your go-to remedy. Learn the technique that even athletes and animals use to release tension.
👣 Steps:
1️⃣ Start with the right leg: Shake it out, let the ankle hang, and loosen the knee. Move hips side to side.
2️⃣ Shift to the left leg: Repeat the process, releasing tension and stress.
3️⃣ Move to the hips: Sway side to side, add arm movements, and let your whole body groove.
4️⃣ Shake out the hands and arms: Flick your fingers, rotate the shoulders, and imagine releasing built-up energy.
5️⃣ Neck and ear rotations: Loosen up the neck by moving it gently, and add some tongue rolls for an extra touch.
This exercise is versatile-do it sitting, standing, or lying down. Feel the energy dissipate, and keep this tool handy for pre or post-stress scenarios.

I needed this video this morning before I saw it! I had a rough morning at home with my family and, unfortunately, left my house very angry and feeling very wound up. But, the good thing is that I knew I had to figure out a way to dispel this energy so it would not continue to affect me. While I did not think of shaking, I did go sit out in my car and scream. And, believe it or not, that put me in a better place immediately. However, I am concerned that somebody might’ve heard me and I don’t want to make a habit of that. I can’t wait to start doing this instead.

I sang the Hokey-Pokey whilst performing these maneuvers for extra therapy & Fun™. :D PS. If you try these exercises before a job interview, be sure to do them where NO-ONE CAN SEE YOU! 'Twas one of my most embarrassing moments so far.

Doesn’t this exercise just create more fear and anxiety as you are associating nervous energy as bad?? Wouldn’t it just be better to say “ hey this is wonderful I have energy” even if it is nervous ?

Nervous energy is definitely not a bad thing! As we discussed, elite athletes use their nervous energy. It's okay to acknowledge your nervous energy and move it through your body so you can focus. :)
