I review, breakdown and explain Reacher Season 2 Episode 5. I discuss the amazon prime show and react to the story which saw Jack Reacher getting closer to uncovering Langston and the operation at New Age Technologies. I answer theories on if Swan is still alive, the identity of AM and other characters such as Dixon, Neagley and O'Donnell. I also give my theories and predictions on episode 6.

Spoiler - the whole truck hijack plan was based on the driver being a nice guy wanting to help. If he’s a jerk and just drives by the other truck, then what? Plus, a truck going out of Denver is going to take an interstate. No other cars on the road during the day? I was taken out of the story by how dumb the hijack plan was.

Have you read the book? The book took place in Los Angeles. I assumed the location was changed to changed to use the Margrave DA in the show. Other than that the story line is similar with the local detective being similar. He coms across as legit at the start. A.M. is the same mysterious character. In this part in the book, most of activity is figuring out what is really going on. Don’t worry, there’s plenty of action left. As Reacher indicated, the bad guy will get to fly out of a helicopter. And the truck will be stopped. I’ve read a lot of Lee Carol Reacher books.

Having read the book, this was an episode where they took a creative turn away from the source material. Not completely a bad thing, but I still think this was one of the weaker episodes of the season. I also think that with there being 3 more episodes left, and them releasing them weekly, I think a slower episode like this suffers from those conditions. However, can't wait to see next weeks episode!! Have some theories who the mole is, but I think it's someone we've just barely seen.

I thought S1 was way way better. Better characters, story building, better music, pacing, tension and mystery. Reacher himself was more momentous and had way more interesting moments of recall.

am thinking that this once a week episode is what is making season 1 look better. possibly, if season 1 had occurred the same way, i think it would be just about equal in all aspects

What about that flash back scene with Swan, and that "missing" bag of drugs they found in his car... that was "misplaced" seemed like they implied he was shady and he hid it.

@@user-yw3ji3cn1r correct, they obviously had to do that intentionally to try to confuse us, like "is he or isn't he" a bad guy. I'm leaning more towards he is 'innocent' but it could be a pretty cool swerve if they went the other way. I can't wait until the next episodes! Really like Alan Ritchson, ever since he was "Thad Castle" in Blue Mountain State, or if I'm being really honest, when I saw him sing to Paula Abdul, lol.

This was definitely a filler episode. I don't think Swan is corrupt & I think he's alive. I do think season was better but I don't think season 2 I bad.

Going off the logic that Reacher is pretty much always right and that was haven’t actually seen modern day Swan actually engaging in any of these incriminating acts I’m gonna go ahead and say that Reacher is in fact correct.

I thought Reacher was acting dumb and out of character. The dumb rage just didn't feel right, felt rushed. On a different matter, I think the rat is Donnelly, not Swan

who else thought it was funny in the flash back around 14:13 (s2 episode 5) into the episode they had a guy flipping around his butterfly knife just throwing it willy nilly to just manually open it as if we didn't just see what he did, lol.

The 2yr time jump hurts because he never went back to Margrave. Everyone wanted him to make it work with Roscoe,so the new romance is weak. If Roscoe showed up to help instead and we got some tension between the two ladies.. Then maybe they bond... Then he'd have a reason to hit the road.

No everyone wanted it to work. If you have read the books you know Reacher is a rolling stone. Dickson is in several books.

@@sheilabrown8817 what makes sense in a book, where you know exactly what the character is thinking. Doesn't always translate to TV. She couldn't leave because she felt a responsibility to the town. There were no loose ends for him to take care of. He had a smart beautiful, kick ass woman that loved him. He could adapt to small town life.

My biggest takeaway from this episode was that O'Donnell wasn't compromised. He looked suspicious when he showed up after the room had been ransacked, and further when he got calls on his burner phone. I was sure someone was holding his family hostage and making him do things against his will. But this episode showed his family is just fine. I think Swan is still alive. Still don't know if he's dirty.

This episode wasn’t that so poor. It seems to be another episode revealing Swan to be a traitor. It may be a chore for some but I enjoyed it enough. Btw did anyone notice that accident in the scene where Reacher and O’Donnell are in an office exchanging information with agents? Reacher and O’Donnell get up to leave and the camera shakes a bit.😅

Not feeling Reacher and the team. This season 2 feels like l’m watching NCIS. Reacher is better on his own. Him and Dixon is only sexual attraction period! After season 1, Season 2 has big shoes to fill and we’re not even close bud.

I think he's behind it that's why I think he was at funeral to make sure the job got done and than when it didn't and they caught the guy reacher interrogated that guy and than cop told people that's why they blew it up.

Interesting take! To be fair, considering that Russo said that he wasn't a crooked cop, he looked away easily enough when Reacher told him to. So that could have been a subtle hint that he could be too

Swan is alive, he definitely is dirty and working with Langston. Langston is playing Reacher, I mean cmon he is a politician. He’ll probably try to spin the story of course. This season is definitely not as good as season 1. The acting and the lines seem more cornier than usual. I tell you what dynamic I do like though it’s with reacher and Russo! Also I think Russo’s lieutenant is dirty! He was going crazy on Russo over reacher, idk or maybe he is not an important character at all. We shall see…. Reacher did say Russo had a rat after the failed hit…

Do you think the cop is in on it? Who else would have known about the building? Reacher saw him protect wife & kid but that might just be an act?

@@deanlillley no I think Russo is a genuine detective trying to do the right thing, but from Reachers perspective he thinks he is. Also with the building that was Swan trying to kill Reachers. And no I don’t think him protecting Franz family was an act, but then again I could be wrong. And it could go a whole different direction.

@@JoeySparks it was a mid season finale I believe, but I could imagine off that one time he showed up on screen that he was dirty. His reaction to Reacher and the team was over the top. But dang swan being clean is crazy. Can’t wait for the rest of the season.

i think the action scenes are meaningless because we know everyone will survive. every situation including a sniper at a funeral where he could have taken the shot at any time reacher had his back to him.
