It's not only in English, it's everywhere around the world. In primary school we learned to always name others first and ourselves as lasts. It's a common thing to do but TOW is so in love with herself that she thinks she has every right to name herself as first.

The easy way to remember, is to think about what you would say in the singular. eg, if alone, you would say "Thank you for hosting me", not "Thank you for hosting I". Simple.
