This song will not be on the upcoming soundtrack. It's from before the series got properly green lit by Amazon. Different voice actor and all. But it does inform us more on Angel's character and it clearly inspired Poison.

This is actually a fanmade song that was made offical and uses Angel's old VA! So it's not part of the official TV series nor the soundtrack, but it is considered canon material that gives us better insight into Angel's struggles ^^

This goes well with Poison and gives more insight on Angel and his character. He is a sex worker who is abused by his boss , Valentino, the guy we saw at the start of the video in the club sitting with those two woman. The other character we saw, the woman with one eye throwing bombs, her name is Cherry Bomb. She will be a character you’ll see in the show as well. She’s Angel’s friend.

Some background info and details if you're interested: The guy with the creepy red smoke is Valentino, Angel's pimp/abuser. He can be seen texting Angel in the beginning of the Hazbin Hotel pilot. We also see that he's SA-ing Angel in that mirror flashback during the after credits scene of the addict video (and likely earlier after that forced kiss in the limo). He's one of the overlords, powerful sinners which rank just above regular sinner demons in hell's hierarchy. Angel's pet pig is named Fat Nuggets If you slow down the video, you can see that Cherri Bomb is blowing up Valentino billboards Toward the end (before credits when they're blowing up tables and stuff in the strip club) there's a sign on the wall that says "it was all a dream", which many interpret to mean that they weren't actually blowing up the club, but they dream that they could. You may have already been informed of this, sinner demons can't leave the pride ring. So while Helluva Boss explores the other rings and the lives of the hellborn demons, Hazbin Hotel will likely stay mainly focused in the pride ring and the sinner demons. And the main royal family, of course (Lucifer is the ruler of the Pride ring and he and his family are at the very top of hell's hierarchy) Some background info we know about Angel (though some of this may wind up changing in the show proper): The forms that sinner demons take is often tied to how they died or how they lived their lives. Angel was born into a mafia family, so he and some of his family members are in the form of spiders in reference to their "web" of crime. Angel is designed after a jumping spider (Those little pink "freckles" on his cheeks are eyes) His real name in life was Anthony He died in the 1940s He has an older brother, Arackniss, and a father, Henroin (yes it's a mix between Henry and heroin lol) It's been implied he doesn't get on with them very well He has a twin sister named Molly, though it's been said that she isn't in hell with them

This song tells about how Angel is trying his best to come clean from his drug addiction and his nightmares connected with his work boss Valentino (the guy that tried to kiss him in the car). If you want to explore the relationship between Angel and Valentino, the song Get Hooked by paranoid DJ dives a bit deeper into it (one of my favourite songs).

You should definitely check out Hazbin hotel's pilot as it's still canon (except visuals like character design and voices according to Viv) and is certainly important to season 1's plot, and it's just a good watch in general.

The fact that we WILL be seeing the relationship between Angel and Valentino fully in the show very soon is wild! ‘Addict’ only showed a lil snippet and with the new official song ‘Poison’ (which we know Angel is talking about his pimp, Val), well, it’s going to be a very serious topic for sure.

I’m so happy to see you fall deeper into the rabbit hole haha. I’m pretty new to the universe as well - I got into it a little over a month ago (starting with Helluva Boss) and I’ve been neck deep in hyper-fixation ever since 😅 As others have said, this song won’t be in the official Amazon distribution of the show - it was animated by Viv based on a fan song she fell in love with long before the show got picked up by a streaming service. But I think the general story it’s telling about Angel Dust and Cherri Bomb are still canon. Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss do share the same universe, but Helluva focuses more on the hell-born demons that live there, while Hazbin is more about the human sinners who end up in hell when they die. They’re limited to the Pride ring, while the hell-born demons can travel between all of the other rings of hell. While Blitz hosts his company in the Pride ring so sinners can commission him to murder people in the living world, from my understanding, we’re not gonna see a lot of crossover or cameos between the two shows (aside from maybe really small blink-and-you-miss-it references). I’m looking forward to seeing if we meet the rest of the Sins in Hazbin though (You’ve met Lust and Gluttony so far, and you’ll meet Greed in Helluva by the time you’re caught up 💕)

12 more days!!!!!! Woo! My daughter got me into this when the Hazbin pilot dropped and now we watch Helluva together ever time one drops. Can't wait for more lore on this universe, especially about the big man himself, Prince of the Pride Ring and King of Hell, Lucifer Morningstar. With that I think we just have 2? more Princes to meet... Leviathan and Belphagor. FEED ME MORE LORE!!!!!

They aren't in purgatory. They are in actual Hell. Purgatory is a different realm in this shows universe. And more specifically Angel is in the Pride Ring of Hell. It's the ring where all human souls go that are bound for hell. The other rings don't have human sinners.

Cool reaction, glad you liked the song! Angel is doing the best he can to survive in Hell under the thumb of his pimp Valentino, who seems to be a truly terrible person. I think you nailed it that he's claiming to embrace this existence but deep down he also hates it. His friend Cherri seemed to be taking care of him during some of the quick flashes we saw of his bad nights, and it looks like the end part of the main video is a fantasy they have of blowing up the club where he works and escaping together. There is one more well-known Angel Dust song called "Use Me Up", by ParanoidDJ, that's also very worth a listen. ParanoidDJ also did the original version of the "Just Look My Way" song for Stolas and he's done some other fan songs for both Hazbin and Helluva Boss that are really good. You're right that the two shows take place in the same Hell. We're not quite sure how they are connected or if they are really happening at the same time. The sinners are restricted to the Pride ring so they all live in one crowded part of Hell together, and except for the I.M.P assassination business it doesn't seem like the Helluva Boss characters have much to do with them. But Hazbin Hotel is going to be all about the sinners and the one demon who does care about them and wants to help them.

I love this original, but, if you’re into rock music, I recommend a musician called NateWantsToBattle’s cover. It’s Its awesome. With the video, I’m not sure if you realized it, but those flashes between scenes at the beginning are Angel going through withdrawal, and Cherri staying with him. A sign at the club at the end reads “It was all a dream”, leading many to theorize that the main video is a fever dream from his withdrawal.

I highly recommend you check out "Insane" by Black Gryp0n. It's another unofficial Hazbin Hotel song, sung by the old VA for Alastor!

Fun fact, before poison came out angles original VA was micheal kovacs, for the new show micheal was replaced. Also this song talks about angles struggle with Valentino who abuses her, and with cherri in it we see her blowing up certain places which are the places angle worked and was abused by her boss. It's Hell not purgatory, Angel died of an overdose, his real name was Anthony and chose Angel Dust probably because that was the drug that killed him

They’re in hell, like in helluva boss. Angel died by overdose and is keeping up his drug habits and slutty ways. I think he died in the 30s or 40s. I love Michael kovach’s voice in these songs 🩷 I’ve been very close to overdosing and these songs help me, even if I don’t like the writing of the show and my friends hate the show

Sinners are only in pride and because the are immortal the can escape this ring and because of how many they are angels every year come to hell to kill 50 % of their population. For the story and characters better see this by yourself.
