Merhaba , Baris manco bu sarkiyi cok sevdigi babaannesinin ölümunden sonra yazmis. Klipte izledigin hüzünlü kalabalik Baris Manco nun kendi cenazesine ait. Öldügü zaman 17 yasimdaydim. Cocuklugumun en onemli figürlerindendi. Herhalde bi bu kadar kendi babam öldüğünde ağlamistim. 80 ķuşaği icin cok onemli biriydi. Nur içinde yatsin.

To tell you about what Barış Manço meant for many people in Turkey, I'd like to give an example. I'm not the type of person that cries frequently or expresses any emotions explicitly at all. Yet, the moment I got the news of his passing, I started sobbing and tears kept pouring out of my eyes, in such intensity that I was not able to stop. There was that big place in my heart that I hadn't really been aware of that's been occupied by his art and legacy, that I suddenly felt the emptiness it left behind. I believe that was why I lost control and cried and cried with intense sadness. I guess many people all over Turkey spanning multiple generations, cultures and backgrounds shared a similar experience with me. He was above most of the concepts that divide people, such an icon. Got it? :)

Barış Manço was a philosophical and deep person. He was making travel programs and children's programs. Those who were children in the nineties remember him as Barış Brother. That's why we cried a lot when he died. I wish you a happy healthy new year.

Barış Manço was not just a musician but a legend for us. He was a very cultured, intelligent, talented and valuable person. He traveled the world, gave many concerts, made documentaries and many great TV shows that teaching us values. By the way his name "Barış" means "Peace" in Turkish. Thank you for this great video. 0:34 No, our months are always dry as a Muslim 😁 Alcohol is haram in Islam, but not everyone is Muslim in Turkey, and sometimes even Muslims get drink alcohol (Who is perfect ? :) but I've noticed we have a phrase " *tıp tıp* damlamak" in Turkish means "dripping" it sounds similar to "tipaton".

Baris Manço was also a traveler and a mystical person, everyone loved him, you did too. The video was from his funeral. rest in peace. Barış means peace.

Barış manço sadece şarkıcı değildi. O hepimizin abisi, babası, arkadaşı, dostu, şarkılarıyla sırdaşı olmuştu. Mükemmel bir insandı. Daha fazla bilgi edinip faha fazla şarkısını dinlemelisin hepsinde mesaj alacağın bir şey bulacaksın. Onu ağlamadan dinlemem çok zor. Ona olan sevgimiz ve saygımız çok büyük🥺😢🤍🤍

He is the voice of our childhood. He traveled almost the whole world and became an ambassador of peace. When he died years ago, the whole turkey cried. You're right. The video is like a tribute to Barış Manço which indicates scenes from his funeral. He was a great musician with a long history and also an intellectual ahead of his time. Check out his 70's songs with his fantastic rings and costumes. You'll love it.

Anyone who saw Barış Manço, naturally liked him very much. Especially the children loved his songs, they followed the TV programs. He was our Barış Ağbi ( big brother )....Thanks.

The composer of this song is the bass player, Ahmet Güvenç. He is the one playing on the record, has been the de facto band leader of Barış Manço's band 'Kurtalan Ekspres', and a true living legend of turkish rock music.

This song is my favorite song, I can't substitute it with something else. We love Barış Manço , his name means 'peace' and he represented it throughout his life. He was the love man, he had loved everything about people, Earth, nature.. when we were child in tv show he was meeting with children and every morning by his songs he teached us to be respectful to people, loving nature, instead of judging to be positive.. In fine we respect and love him :))

Firstly they created the pyschedelic anatolian rock genre(we can also count bands and musicians like Moğollar, Ersen ve Dadaşlar, Üç Hürel, Mavi Işıklar, Erkut Taçkın, Zafer Dilek in this genre). And they influenced almost all genres of Turkish popular music, especially rock. I recommend you to listen some songs of three great: Barış Manço: Fairground, Susanna, Blue Morning Angel, Old Paulin, Kara Sevda, Hemşerim Memleket Nere... Cem Karaca: Ay Karanlık, Namus Belası, Tamirci Çırağı, Parka... (more progressive like The Doors) Erkin Koray: Akrebin Gözleri, Mezarlık Gülleri, Arapsaçı, Blonda Man, My Delight, Mesafeler, Meçhul... this song was my childhood nightmere There was a Turkish TV Show called"Like a movie" it is abouth people trying to find unknown parents . There was a part. Anouncer saying:" Lets see your parents will come or not from special door" In that part door was opening and closing over and over during that moment 3:24 part was playing.

Hi again Janne - this is a really good pick to react as a song. Barış Manço is one of rare people who anyone can not say any single negative word about. We miss him. X and Y generation grew up when he was alive, he means very different thing for these generations including me. I know Turkish music is like Mars for a Finnish young person, but keep exploring, may be you find more things you would like. By the way, this song was written after his Grandma - whose name was Gülpembe - so we can consider it like an elegy. Take care bro :)

Hi Janne. HAppy New Year. Barış Manço was very special for Turks and also he was proud of being Turk. He aslo maybe the first person who gave big concerts in Japan, which Japan president attent... when I was a little girl I attent his TV show for children. and also this song is about her grandma, when she passed away Barış Manço got very upset and wrote this song.

Dropless January equivalent for the majority of the people in Turkey would be the month (lunar calendar) of Ramadan. Actually, Ramadan combines the Dropless January and No Nut November, if you know what I mean. 😉😀

Baris Manco is not among us,,Janne,,it was a kind of saying goodbye song to his grandma,,but he left us with his young age,so this song was written to his grandma,after he passed away in a short period,it was a goodbye from BARIS to the Turkish nation,it has its dubble meaning for us,we miss him so much

Baris Manco's "Kara Sevda" song is my favourite & this perticular version he sung in Japan in 1991 is my favourite version. As Barış Manço stated, it was written for his grandmother Nimet Manço, who passed away during the Ramadan Feast of 1957; Namely, Gülpembe is the name of her grandmother who died when Manço was 13 years old.

We do not believe that Jesus died, only Allah (God) took him paradise as alive and Allah made punished the person who betrayed him according to our belief.(Allah made the man resemble Jesus and people killed him because they think he is Jesus ) . We believe that he will come to the world again near the end of the day and that he will find the true bible and guide people to the right path. Normally, alcohol is prohibited in our religion, not only in January, but always. But of course, there are those who can't follow this rule 😅

@@JanneNordman yeah they are alike. Islam, Christianity and Judaism are all true religions coming from one God, but we believe that the books of Judaism and Christianity have been changed. That's why we actually have similar sides, of course, we also have different sides. But as long as we respect each other, I actually believe that all people will get along very well together. Ali bin Talib, our great Islamic scholar, said, "People are afraid of what they don't know." I believe that if people break their prejudices and get to know each other, they will see that there is nothing to fear. 🤗

Weird to say it but synthesizer version of this song is much better than ney (flutte) version. And yes, he wrote this song for his grandma: > You faded away with the autumn rains, you rose-pink, we couldn't even believe that it happened. We couldn't be without you. Can you check out the song Can Kırıkları by Şebnem Ferah, my favorite Turkish singer? He has a very strong voice and he composes the lyrics himself. Their songs are difficult to sing and very meaningful.
