Sensitive here, I'm oily and have Seb Derm and my skin sensitises to ingredients with annoying regularity - probably because the product will sometimes be going on a damaged SD skin barrier. Just last week my skin turned bright red and burned like a **** after using the freederm niacinamide cleanser I've been using for the last 3 years. Not like light "ive put moisturiser on damaged skin" burning, bright red, making me cry, need to repair that skin barrier burning. I don't use perfumed products cause I am not that kind of risk taker, lol.

Sydney is the first person I’ve ever heard talk about having a hard time keeping makeup on her face. I have the same problem. No matter how stay proof or waterproof or budge proof a makeup claims to be it just breaks apart when I wear it. All waterproof mascaras just leave me with raccoon eyes. I don’t wear facial oils and despite having a lot of acne before accutane I’ve never actually been oily. My skin is actually dry enough that I can slug every night.

I've actually learned over years of struggling with awful acne that takes over your face and body, that products made for acne actually made my acne worse. At first I blamed it on purging but nope. It's because my body despised the main anti-acne ingredients. Glycolic acid, niacinamide, and vitamin C saved my skin.

I got 2 bad news : the eye cream she's using is Sisley (sorry) and this caudalie product is a mechanic exfoliator (I'm french so i can find it anywhere and it's really harsh...). Thanks for your kindness and positive attitude. It's really inspiring. By the way, in another video you talked about acne ptsd. I don't know if it's a thing but I relate so much on you. Having pimples coming back brings me back to that horrible period of my life, when I had so much insecurities and did not look people in the eye.

dude trauma is real. might not be straight up ptsd, but trauma shows itself in many ways. i'm sorry to hear that it's still affecting you so much. i very much relate - i had horrible eczema growing up. people would literally ask me if it was contagious, everyone was commenting on it constantly, and it was so freaking painful at the same time to a point where i couldn't sleep or put on clothes. it's proven that skin problems can cause depression or a decline in mental health. you can definitely still suffer from trauma, and it sucks. i hope you'll heal with time and understand, that there was never anything wrong with you or your skin @Audrey

I like what you said about sensitive skin term being different for many folks. I started a while ago to get more descriptive and state that my face is “infection prone” vs. just “sensitive”. Over actives in products (like too much s.a.) can make my face ultra dry faster than normal folks, so then my skin gets micro cracks, and then I get break outs because I have an auto immune thing. It is a circle. Fun fact I have two products with citrus in loads and my face is fine with fruit 🍉 lol. So not sensitive in the way most folks think. Same with physical exfoliation. Thanks to your videos I have learned how often to chemically exfoliate to reduce the risk of acquiring bacteria later. ❤️

I recently went to an aesthetician for the first time because I get really bad cystic hormonal acne that flares up when I’m stressed. I changed out most of my skincare products by their recommendations - I’ve learned a ton about ingredients from your videos - and one of the things they recommended was the EltaMD SPF and I’m loving it! It’s super light, a little product goes a long way, and it doesn’t give my skin any weird reactions. LOVE to see your support for this because I’ve learned to trust your word on different products and knowledge on skincare in general.

I was very much against eye creams after your videos, and many years of using them with dark under eye circles, I never saw any difference. For the last couple of years, I was mainly using my regular moisturizer around my eyes as well. But I have seborrheic dermatitis, and for the last two years I started getting it around my eyes. Nothing works, and I'm reluctant to put things I use on my scalp to my eyelids. My regular moisturizer was too heavy for the dermatitis because it ended up sitting on top of that dry skin and making my eyes heavy, sometimes building up there and causing friction... stuff like that. Now I bought an eye cream and it works amazing. Gets rid of my dermatitis without making me uncomfortable. So, like you said, skincare is very subjective and eye cream can be very useful in some occasions.

I have combo sensitive skin, meaning I break out from most products that contain fragrance or alcohol. But I've been using the Embryolisse moisturizing cream for two years now and it's honestly the only cream that works wonders for me. It moisturizes and hydrates my skin whilst not making it oily. It keeps the moisture in all day long and is perfect as a primer. The fragrance is not overwhelming at all, it's barely there tbh, so I've never had any problems with that. It's an extremely good, calming cream for the price and the simple ingredients, so I would definitely recommend trying it, even if you have sensitive/combination skin.

I’m a huuuge fan of resveratrol and I use up about five bottles of The Ordinary’s Resveratrol and Ferulic Acid every year! Other things, ingredients, that I really believe in are: mushrooms, berries and seaweed. I’ve also seen really good results from using those ingredients as well as products with rice/saké and galactomyces. I have an eye cream, from Benton, with galactomyces. But it’s a very affordable eye cream, like 25-35 $/£ for 30 ml so I’m using it on my whole face! In fact I got two eye creams from Benton: I got the Snail&Bee eye cream too. There are good eye creams! And if you’re prone to milia, like I am, an eye cream can be a lifesaver!!

Big fan of caudalie and I have sensitive skin too. HOWEVER I prefer to use their cleansing oil (becomes a milk when you mix it with water) to cleanse. Had a huge impact on my skin. I use avène hydrance serum (and I add 6 drops of The Ordinary amino acids + B5 in my bottle!) and I also use Embryolisse as a moisturiser. The only one that I tolerate well. Love the moisturizers from caudalie too, but they don't have the same long-term effect as the embryolisse.

One thing I like about Cassandra to read the ingredients because some people need to understand about why ingredients is so important, you need to know do not put products before you put on your face. This why I like Cassandra to get the right products for skin care videos.

As someone who has neurodermitis EVERYWHERE, Vitamin Cs, Retinoils- acids in general are just not an option for me. I use the most basic and gentle cleanser, plain (European (cause apparently there is a difference)) Nivea and in the morning the Nivea Sun Screen 50+ for sensitive skin. That's it. It took over a year, but it really helped my skin (acne-wise). All the dermatologist-prescribed creams just didn't work, so as a Hamburger Deern, Nivea was my rescue. NOT sponsored by Nivea😅

A sunscreen that doesn't give me white cast that is a full mineral and doesn't burn the eyes when you workout that I use is from Maelove. Literally feels like health being washed over the soul lol. I love it, I wish they made it in full body size. I look forward to using it every morning in excess. It's a beautiful formula and I've tried to find others that match and nothing so far.

I was told HA ultimately dries out the skin... that it draws moisture OUT from the skin vs. bringing moisture IN to the skin. So for a quick, "plumping skin" before an event, great to use it. But daily wear it ultimately doesn't hydrate your skin??.... help??

The products from The Ordinary may be in small quantities, but if you're only using a couple of drops a day it lasts for quite a long time...even more bang for your buck. I'm currently using their Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% on just my forehead, once a day not twice. It's been pretty good so far and really helped me with a stubborn breakout that lasted a few months.

On eye creams...I personally apply my eye cream before my actives ie: Vit C (day) and Tret (night) to act as a barrier to keep the actives away from my eyes that are very sensitive. I know they're formulated for the eye area, would you just use your moisturizer in the same way if subbing out eye cream?

I kind of hate the comparison between Vaseline and any product that has similar main ingredients like the Embryolisse cream. It's not the same at all to just slap whichever product on your face and expect to get the same results just because you can draw comparisons between a couple shared ingredients.

Hi Cassandra! Love your videos. I have a question and I would love if you could help me! I am currently on isotretinoin, but when a try to put make up on, it kind of dries on my face and looks patchy. People have said to me to exfoliate but I don’t know if that’s contraindicated because of the isotretinoin. Could you help me? I don’t know if I should buy a cleanser that exfoliates, like with salicylic acid?

Is there anything that you would recommend for rosacea? Anything that can reduce the appreance of the redness? I'm currently using Cera\ve for my skin care but the redness still hasn't reduced. I'm guessing I need something with maybe an antioxidant in but I have no idea what to try and I need to be careful because I react to so many brands. Could you advise something simple but effective? Thank you xxxx

I know that eye creams are overprized moisturizers but every time I put a regular moisturizer under my eyes it gets these little pumps, whereas eye creams from the same brands have kind of a different consistency and I don't get those pumps with them. I can't figure out why.

I'm German and the Ordinary is a brand, I don't consider worth the price (at least in Germany). For a couple of years now, I'm looking more into the ingredients than anything else. I love that you have this turning and learning advice. I think that a lot of people should do this more, than looking up to influencers and the products they advertise. Good products that we get here in Germany are by nocosmetics (very affordable), Colibriskincare and transparent lab. I'm pretty curious what you would say about these to be honest.

Wonderful video and I agree with you regarding her skincare routine. I too had severe cystic acne as a teen up through my 30’s 🤦🏽‍♀️. Do you have suggestions for a serum for mature, combination, sensitive skin in arid climate. I love HA, but sometimes it is not enough. Lately, I have been double moisturizing after double cleansing, hydrating toner, serum (including The Ordinary Argireline, Matrixyl + HA, 2 moisturizers and a facial oil on top. I let each layer absorb before I apply the next one. I do biweekly peels with Dr. Dennis Gross peel pads & do a nightly mini massage. Please help me. My skin looks great in the mirror, but by the morning I am dry or maybe dehydrated. I do use Tretinoin, but I sandwich it & use it every other night. Thank you. Cheers 😉🌷
