In fact, there are two animes produced by Mihoyo, Honkai impact 3rd "cooking with valkyries" which has two seasons with about 5-6 episodes each (I don't know exactly how many) and Honkai Impact3rd "Golden Courtyard" which has only a two-episode season, does not have much to do with the main story but rather what the daily life of the game's heroes is like, it would be great if you reacted to both animes.

Senti isn’t a bad guy. she’s basically an infant with 40,000 years of memories. This is her basically throwing a tantrum due to the conflicts between her newborn mind and her memories of fu hua’s life. She’s legitimately one of the best characters in the whole game.

This one is indeed in CN (the original audio). Both CN and JP Dub are great, but if you have a preference, just make sure to search it up with the specific language you have in mind. Another note, each animation caps off the end of an "arc" in the story. Going on from here would be "Everlasting Flames" featuring Vocal OST "Moon Halo". Capping off the end of chapter 25 which is highly regarded as one of the best arcs of the story. Sadly without context, this will mostly be you watching the pay off without the build up. But, without context it is still beautifully animated (and only getting better) and wonderfully written. When/if ever you get to the point where you have to watch Everlasting Flames in game, you will be drenched in tears before you even start!

One of the best things in Honkai Impact 3rd is how the MC, Kiana, the white haired girl develops throughout the story, she has one of the most incredible character developments I've seen in games

This short represents a lot of character growth for Kiana in a very short amount of time. While she is still very much hurting and even depressed from what happened in Lament of the Fallen, her perspective has completely changed to the point where her position has completely flipped. This time it’s Fu Hua who is wanting to sacrifice herself to seal away the Herrscher of Sentience, while Kiana is the one who has grown tired of the pointless sacrifices and chooses to risk the world’s safety to rescue Fu Hua. But it doesn’t even end at that. Fu Hua was the one that betrayed Kiana’s trust when she became Herrscher of the Void, and had no choice but suffer Kiana’s legitimate wrath towards her as well as her own guilt over it while she tried to pull Kiana out of her own guilt and suffering. After they finally made up, Fu Hua would go on to train Kiana in blade mantra, specifically Edge of Taixuan: Eminence (the cool new power she displayed in the short). With HoS defeated, Fu Hua could finally give Kiana what she wished for back in 11-EX: her freedom from someone who betrayed her. However, Kiana had long forgiven her and was not wanting to lose yet another friend, especially after the way she lost Mei.

If you're unfamiliar, samsara is the Buddhist idea of the endless cycle of birth, suffering, death, and rebirth. Fu Hua has been trapped in such a long cycle of pain that she's lost any sense of time, and sight of any hope for the future. Her personal samsara being shattered means she's finding a way to move forward and finally escaping her loop of despair. As far as titles go I think it's one of the better ones out there.

i think it would be better to say that the “bad guys” have relatable and in some cases realistic reasons to be bad. I mean, Otto is evil. What he did is not something that can be put in a grey area because it far surpasses how good his reason is.

People have probably told you that the next animated short is Everlasting Flames. My advice to you is to get through the full list of animated shorts, and if you want to know more then watch the Honkai Chronicles videos. They explain more about what's going on, but it's advised to go through the animations first because, the Chronicles videos show things from the animations which can semi-spoil the animations. As for my favorite OST....you'll hear it in the next animated short and it made me cry when I first heard it. I've also tried to sing it but most of the time the emotion of the song makes me break into tears and fail at it XD.

They have an animation department and an in-house music department too! All this amazing music is made by them! (the same studio) They didn't outsource the music production to an external music studio which I think is really cool. And they have actually made their own animes: "Cooking with Valkyries", "Golden Courtyard", and "ELF Academy", which are all in the same universe but non-canon(ish) to the main story line. ..And of course these shorts, which are climaxes to the various story arcs. They really are a talented studio. Can't wait to see more reactions, and perhaps maybe you getting to play it some day❤

Next would be "Everlasting Flames" with the song "Moon Halo", though for other OSTs, I'd highly recommend "Oaths" and "Oracle". They are both songs from a time skip side story in the game, and while Oracle has a video ("Stars Above Drowned Lands"), Oaths is only in game at the end of a huge boss fight, not even on the official channel (many have posted it though to listen on YT!) They have made a few small short silly animes, but the quality they put into these cinematics would be very expensive and tons of work to make a whole series like this. These are generally released at the end of a mini-arc of the story, 2-4 chapters, so they are spaced out and are like a bit of a mini finale. Makes them more impactful and probably more manageable cost wise for them.

Shattered Samsara is easily one of my favorite honkai impact shorts. Epic and emotional, Heartbreaking and tearjerking, bittersweet and joyous all the way. I'm glad you watched it!

Oh boy, next week is THAT one! The next one is my favorite and what drew my attention to Honkai in the first place. Though this one also has a really special place in my heart. I think Fu Hua's character arc is one of the most beautiful stories Hoyoverse has ever told. Her struggles and redemption really hit when you know the context especially with how much she plays a part Kiana's own growth.

Mihoyo has done anime before but they were slice of life short anime. They have Cooking with Valkyries S1 and S2, Elf Academy and the Golden Courtyard. They don't have any sort of action scenes but are nice to watch nonetheless. I wouldn't recommend watching them until you have played the game though. The animes have a lot of references to the game that you wouldn't otherwise realize on a completely blind watch.

They actually did kind of make an anime for Honkai impact 3 by themselves, called cooking with valkyries which has 2 seasons available in both CN and JP, they also made a smaller anime for the flamechasers (characters will be introduced in a later animation short). These animated shows arent about the game however but the characters are the same. You can watch both on youtube so if you want to react to those after finishing the animated shorts you could do so. Favourite animated short is hard to decide, its probably Graduation trip atm but that is probably partly recency bias. Favourite ost is probably honkai world diva, which played in lament of the fallen, it is definitly the one ive listened to the most.

Once again, amazing reaction. Your confusion and desire to know "what the hell just happened" are ones of best parts of your every reations. The next one, as it was written before me, is "Everlasting Flames" with OST named "Moon Halo". It IS the next peak of miHoYo creativity. I think you already reacted to the song (or maybe not 😅 ). It is difficult to choose favorite animated shorts' song. Some of them are hype, others are nostalgic. But I definitely have several favorite PV trailers' OSTs. You should check them at some point.

They have done anime for HI3rd, however. Its a spin off/fan service anime about cooking and just chill days. Mihoyo doesnt seem to be fan of releasing the same story in different medium, once it came out in 1 medium. They wont release a remake of it in another form. 2nd eruption manga is such a master piece for it to be just a manga, yet here we are

They chose to make a playable anime. But to be fair - they have anime all right, they've got 2 seasons of Cooking with Valkyries, 2-episode special of Elysian realm characters and a whole season of Elf school (which is a distinctly different style and not all like them).

I think one of the reason why they dont make anime with the quality of the animated short is because they do outsourcing. using outside sources for assistance. plus they do animes too; cooking with valkyries season1 and 2. golden courtyard. elf academy. these animes were made without much outsourcing. pretty much shows their development as a animation studio house.

Shattered Samsara is something that special to me, I played this game when it was first came out but I quickly lost interest to the game because the phasing is just that terrible during it's first few months I ended up not playing it for a years then I watched this animated short and it peak my interest again saying to my self "what did I miss to the story while I was not playing?" I quickly reinstall the game and came back playing it till I get to that very part of the game it was emotional and heartbreaking if you know the context and now I'm stuck to this game and there's no hope for me of quitting it HELP!..

Here's the thing, each of this animated shorts are the end of each chapter in the game, kind of like the final scene on each volume of RWBY, and the song is kimd of the creadit song not just of the characters but to that part of the game, you should watch the update version trailers, kind of what genshin does, introduce you whats gonna be the next char and the next plot of each patch, did you know that there has been 2 mayor colabs? One with genshin, where kequing and Fischl were playable tho at the end just Fischl remaind in honkai impact 3rd? (my strongest char btw) and one with non other than Neon Genesis Evangelion, if you manage to play the game in the future you might encounter Asuka in coop.

As everyone has already mentioned, the next one would be Everlasting Flames. These animations almost always have two versions, with the japanese voices or the chinese ones. I would recommend finding the japanese version, since every animation you've seen so far has been in japanese except this one, I believe Everlasting Flames has the japanese dub on the title. Honestly, the animations from these point onward, are pretty much masterpieces imo. From the visuals, sound design, voice acting, everything is honestly perfect from this point forward.

Love your reaction as always, Hoyo can't make a in house anime cos of cost, its the same reason why Blizzard can't make a in house animation movie even tho their cinematic trailers are prob the best in the world, a sustainable anime series ranges from $60k-150k per episode, this 3 min trailer prob costed them at least 20x more to produce in house.

Hey Luke. There’s many Chinese languages, the most commonly spoken is Mandarin so you’re on the money. There’s also Cantonese and other minor languages such as Dong

The new animations(After "Lament of the fallen) mostly have chinese and japanese VO so yeah Also in my opinion there's some Animations are better in Chinese and some are better in Japanese For me this one is better in Chinese, just my opinion(I don't think the JP dub is bad or anything close to that even, just that sometimes that language has more depth to it) And her Character development isn't "Out of nowhere" if you play the game and engage in the story then you will understand why she developed and relate to it as well

the animated shorts are sometimes very disconnected with each other because they're far apart, usually at the end of each chapter or few. it also serves like an anime Ending song for a chapter/arc that's why its like a Music video next should be > Everlasting Flames 🔥 (my personal favorite actually)

Yeah, it's chinese. Not japanese. The game is chinese itself. But honestly as a jp only fan some chinese dubs sound better and this animation is one of them. Kiana's voice sounds much better here

Finally, one of my favourites! ^^ The next one will be another one from which you heard the song from already, "Everlasting Flames" ^^ When it comes to what is my favourite animated short and ost, we haven't reached it yet (It is the one about our lord and saviour Pink Jesus, and the song accompanying it, this much I think I can say 😆)

This is indeed the CN version, which I am personally thankful for as I think this particular short is done better in the CN version than the JP version. Kiana's voice is more serious in the CN version after Himeko's death and just seems to fit her more in this situation. And Senti and Fu Hua are chinese in game, they really just fit better in chinese in my own opinion. Also let me blow your mind a bit. The song of this short? Its sung by a GUY. Doesn't that just boggle the mind? His name is Zhou Shen.

Next will be the trailer: Pre-revelation and the short: Thus Spoke Apocalypse. Fave OST? Moon Halo. The first one you listened to. All their songs are great but this one ALWAYS makes me cry. I would recommend checking out either Reburn (only the instrumental is in the short) or IRAS 17514 (just to give the male vocalists some love). Love you're reactions. If you think the story telling is good here? Wait till you play the game!

Hi, I'll keep recommending the OST from Punishing: Gray Raven. I highly suggest the songs Narwhal and Sie liebten sich beide. This game isn't really popular but I hope one day you'll react to something about it

I'm so glad you picked the Chinese version even if by accident. All miHoYo games are Chinese games and they have absolutely stellar Mandarin casts that deserve more attention. The CN cast absolutely killed it for Shattered Samsara, far outpacing the JP cast in this one. Folks who care about consuming media in the native language should experience miHoYo games in Mandarin. The cast is absolutely spectacular. Minor trivia context: Fu Hua was once told long ago that someday she would meet someone who cared more about her than the world. This was the moment that came true. miHoYo has produced anime but they are not adaptations of the story. They're more like slice of life feel good or comedy spinoffs that are only slightly related to the game story in that they share characters. That said, if you get to know the characters, the spinoff shows are really enjoyable.

Shattered samsara jp and chinese dub are like on the same level but in most cases jp is just better. You can hear it in lament of the fallen or Seele.

@@meri373 That's just a factor of not being familiar with the phonemes. Japanese sounds weird to people who have never heard it before too, I've been often told it sounds silly in fact, and let's face it, most of the west rarely ever hears Mandarin. After making the choice to expose myself to it, I find it to be more emotive than Japanese.

@@albezelcz3452 You mean same Seele that misses entire important line in JP? I wouldn't call it better, quite the opposite. Voice acting is similar quality, but JP dub was made with less care.
