- On this Wintergatan Wednesday I am reacting to so many AMAZING Marble Machine covers! Please share and enjoy, and go give all the cover creators a lot of love on their channels.
I have completed the playlist for all the full videos here: • Marble Machine Song Co...
Today it is exactly one year ago we released the Marble Machine Video. There is no better way to celebrate this anniversary, seing all these versions has been an incredible experience for me. THANK YOU!!! / Martin
Let me give you a tip about one video that wasnt in this video: It is the Plywood Stepper Organ creation by Josh Sheldon, he built it inspired by the Marble Machine take a look here:
Josh Sheldon - Stepper Motor Organ
• Stepper Motor Organ
I will make a playlist with all the individual videos, as soon as i am done with it i am going to post the link to the playlist here!
Video Made by Martin Molin & Hannes Trainerds Knutsson
If you want to support:
The fact that you are watching the videos and care about the music and future of Wintergatan is the best support anyone can have, I want to thank everyone who is here for that kind of support, it is really the fuel for the Wintergatan Engine.
If you apart from that further want to support the projects, we have these different options set up:
KZfaq SPONSOR
►Sponsor the Wintergatan KZfaq Channel by clicking the blue sponsor button next to subscribe
PATREON
►www.patreon.com/wintergatan
PAYPAL ME
►www.paypal.me/wintergatan
Why do we accept support in this way?
I, Martin, can already sustain myself 100% doing what I love to do. If you want to support artists/organisations who have not yet reached that privileged position, please consider supporting other artists/organisations who need the support more. With that said, I have too many ideas and too little time and with your support I can get more help from people around me to execute the ideas better and bring them out in the world faster. Years and years ago, I saw an animation of an entirely autonomous machine that played music using marbles and other ridiculous things like that to play. I thought "Oh, that'd never work though. The marbles could never be recollected, the whole thing would just be a mess, I didn't really think it through enough though. I was obsessed with that video for a while. Then there was another. A strings instrument played by mechanical hands... Again, just an animation. Then I saw more and more and others and one day, I found the original Marble Machine. A singular device that could even conceivably be mass produced, if one was crazy enough to try, which could produce music with the help of a single man rotating a gear wheel and flipping switches. All it would take to automate this completely, create that insane idea of years and years before, was a motor and some cool switches. You made what seemed completely insane into something real. Something beautiful. Did it sometimes spill marbles? Sure. But who said it needed to be perfect? It was there. It was real. And that's the entire point. Creativity knows no limits. What seems impossible just hasn't been figured out yet.

So true! One of my greatest inspiration is yann tiersen, the chords in the marble machine song is inspired by his kind of harmony. Then one day i heard a song from Eric Satie and realised how much inspiration Yann Tiersen has drawn from Satie! We do not make up anything really new actually, but we can add to the existing and eventually something new will evolve!!!
