May need to read me a Darcy Coates. Presently reading a long ago (1971) horror classic , The Other by Thomas Tryon. It’s not a haunted house but it is focused on a family. You may want to give it a go. Glad Fern made an appearance ♥️

I’ve read three books by Darcy. I liked the haunting of ashburn and Blackwood books. But then I read the whispering dead and my desire to read from her kinda fizzled. I feel like her characters and plots are fun and cozy at first… but then the more you read from her you realize her books (the haunting ones at least) are just the same exact thing with different names and slightly different haunting situations.
