I wish I found your channel sooner but now I'm binging your videos! They're super helpful! 31 weeks today and getting ready to pack my hospital bag.

I am going in for a 39 week elective induction on Friday (!!) and am just double checking my hospital bag has everything we need either planned for or packed. The more unusual things I am bringing are our Hatch sound machine/night light thing and BOARD GAMES! I might be there for up to like 5 days if I need cervical ripening, so we are packing like it's a weekend vacation to get us from check-in to active labor. Thank you so much for mentioning the supply shortage. I am definitely going to check with my doctor about whether he would like me to bring my own pump or any other supplies.

I'm actually so glad I watched your video about the counter pressure, helped me survive my first two days of labor, until the doctors made me stay stuck on my back.

I’m due next Thursday! I’ve been packing my bag(really procrastinating here!) but I used almost nothing from my bag with my first and I’m hoping now with covid rules that since we won’t have visitors that I will want to feel a little more human! I didn’t even shower at the hospital last time because we had visitors around the clock and by the time they left I was exhausted! I truly think I had a hard time in my initial postpartum period because of this and I’m so grateful this time because of regulations and just my own confidence that we won’t be having visitors at the hospital or at home for awhile! So I’ve got twinkle lights, and all my toiletries and my favorite robe all ready to go! Just want to soak in all the alone time with new baby and husband and this video got me so excited to double check my bag! Haha.

Actually maybe a good idea is even if your partner packed the bag with you sometimes people when it comes to moments like those may not remember exactly where so maybe a list of the items with their location like comb front outside zipper pocket on the green (brand) bag something like that may have helped and then you won't have to try to remember if you packed it or not because if it's not on the list then it's not in the bag!

Taking notes so I can remember: pack the diaper bag with chapstick, portable humidifier, eye mask, earbuds, scrunchies, makeup remover, tennis balls, robe, comfy socks and shoes, twinkle lights, electric candle, batteries, long phone charger, toiletries, changes of clothes, pillow and blanket, heating pad. Thank you for your insight! I'm due mid-July with my first.

My favorite item I brought was my robe! Honestly, once I was able to move with a little less pain (I had a c-section) and was finally ready to take a shower, it helped so much to make me feel like a human again after wearing the hospital gown for so long. I didn't even wear anything under it other than underwear. Easy to feed baby ✅feel like a human✅super comfy✅

Those candles/twinkle lights are such a good idea. I should start packing my bag lol. Due to have baby girl on June 10th! 💜

I am 11 weeks today, planning on a home birth but, I know things can change so I also want to have a labor/hospital bag prepared ☺️. Trying to do as much research as possible 🤣 thanks for the great video!

Def going to use the peppermint oil, especially in the toilet. Unfortunately, we used lavender oil in the first week of making sanitizer (before govt regulations kicked in), so i associated that smell with A Time Of Extreme Stress and Anxiety

I always forget my own blanket when I'm in the hospital. The heating pad though, I'm gonna need that with #5.

I'm due in July with baby #2. I have had a running list on my phone that I keep adding things too! I think all the time what I would bring differently from my daughter's birth when I didn't know what to expect! My for sure item is wild orange essential oil. My husband put it on a cotton ball for me to inhale and my OB said my pushes were wonderful with the oil! Plan to ensure I have that again!

Have you ever done a video on how to work through contractions in the car? I know you have mentioned stopping and working through contractions on the side of the road, but I live about 30 minutes away from the hospital and it is pretty much all freeway... I am not even pregnant and I am already worrying about this!

I love the idea of bringing the candles and the fairy lights. It's definitely something I would like to have during my labor one day. In your experience, is bringing items like these frowned upon or perceived as being a fussy laboring person? I live in The Netherlands and somehow I have this preconception that the hospital staff may look at me funny if I ask to have these in the room... I really want to be able to advocate for myself and my needs instead of worrying about what other people may or may not think.

Packing my bag at the moment. 32+3 days today. We're leaving for my parents' summer cottage in two weeks (several hours away, and you need to go by boat part of the way), so I want to bring my bag there in case baby is VERY early. I'd rather bring it unnecessarily than not having it and actually needing it. 😬 Second baby due 1 of August :)

We are planning a home birth or at least to stay home as long as possible (hospital is less than 5 min away) so I’m not sure what to pack as we won’t be there long if we go at all. But if we don’t go, I won’t get to steal all the free post p supplies! (I live in Canada so I’m not sure we have as many things available as the US anyways). I’ll have to discuss with my midwife and doula.

Should I let the baby self soothe and cry themself to sleep and if so what month should I start at?

I remember my nice headphones died when waiting for my induction to kick in. Thankfully had packed a spare pair (not great but better than nothing) cause it was hours before my husband could join me.

I’m due august 8th with my third girl 🥰 I watched u my whole time with my second baby who is two now.

Absolutely - hands down - disposable diaper underwear for you - like brand Depends on US. I wore them to the hospital when my water broke and on a way to the house bc they were a lot more comfortable than hospital stuff. And used them after - bc I also suffered from being unable to hold my pee for few weeks. Find out what your nipple size is and get yourself some nipple shield for breastfeeding 🤱- lactation specialist came late, didn’t have my size - we had problem latching - I’m not leaving this up to a chance next time! Wasted a lot of precious time where I could have breastfed my child. Fact: I didn’t need any of the extra stuff I bought for postpartum care bc hospital provided everything I needed so I just wasted few $100 on those products and never used them home. Like Frida kit with peri bottle and other stuff and etc. Start taking something like colace as you getting closer to due date on daily basis. If you are doing or end up doing any medicines - you are going to get comsitpated!! It will be a nightmare! Also be ready for your body (feet) to swell up for several days after. We spend a whole week in the hospital bc of jaundice. Make sure you plan for potential long hospital stay - other kids home/ pets and etc. During labor I didn’t care for any extras - just a wet cold rug on my neck/forehead to keep nausea down.

Honestly, I wish I’d brought less. I didn’t use 90% of what was in my bag. I also kind of loved the Covid restrictions. Having just my husband there 100% of the time was nice. I could just be topless in my recovery room and didn’t worry about clothes.

I wish I could redo my labour now that I have more knowledge about what to expect and what to bring! Unfortunately my next child will have to be via caesarean, so all my vaginal birth knowledge is wasted! 🙄
