I love reading 1 star reviews even of books I like because there's just so much sass waiting to be read. On another note I don't think I'm ever going to read Radio Silence because it is not a book for me. I have been out of high school for almost a decade so most of the emotions and issues no longer apply or appeal to me so I'm better off not touching it.

Loved this! I'd be terrified of doing this myself since reading even semi negative reviews of books I love but read a long time ago might have the power to change my mind, which is very easily persuaded. I guess if I don't have SOLID, STRONG feelings for a book my opinion might change if someone puts their argument cleverly in front of me
@16SF5 жыл бұрын
This was so fun. I do the same thing (both with books I love and books I hate). It also reminds me that goodreads (and ratings) shouldn't be taken that seriously. People legit be giving 1 star because they hate green and the cover has some of it. Or my favorite, "read half- page, is meh". I like to stick to booktubers with similar tastes to mine.

When people don't like or just not interested in books I like, I don't feel offended or personally attacked. I just feel so frustrated and sad that they are missing out on something that I think is just REALLY wonderful! I like very few books as well, and when I like them, I don't just like them, I LOVE THEM. Books like Watership Down, or My Family and Other Animals, or The Little Prince. So when folks are like...."MEH" even before giving it a SHOT I feel just heartbroken at what they're missing out on.
@etc46045 жыл бұрын
i loved how you lowkey agreed about the comments on the first books, but as soon as you got into radio silence it was just PAIN. NO YOU'RE SO WRONG. i did this to myself too (not exactly sure why, but it happened). it HURTS. like actual suffering. didn't expect that. and there weren't even compelling arguments, just people saying how much they loathe my favourite book. i cried real tears. got really defensive, but like. everyone's entitled to their own opinion

Honestly, the vibes you have in this video are how I feel when I watch your other videos sometimes. @eillenhuas3 жыл бұрын
Ik it's too late but I read Radio Silence very recently (it's one of my comfort books, I have only two and this is the 2nd one) I tried to read all the 1 star reviews but majority of them were hating on Frances and that hurt me because I relate to Frances a lot and people were calling her arrogant and whiny and it just made me question myself. So it literally hurts and I do understand where people come from when they have an unpopular opinion on my other favourite books, but Radio Silence is literally so perfect, I can't even wrap my mind around some of their reviews TT

It's actually my favourite contemporary novel, I love the writing style and it covers actual important issues that are being faced by many of the readers. I fkn love that book.
