To be fair Elden Ring’s difficulty spikes are brutal sometimes. Games like Punch-Out, Contra, Metroid, Castlevania, Ghosts ‘n Goblins, every From Software game, and Cuphead are often considered some of the toughest games ever just because they’re either so obnoxiously precise or are intentionally impossible because the developers were bored. Especially back in the NES era.
