Well if I hadn't seen this pop up then I wouldn't have believed it could happen. Austin and Rob from Home Free doing, in their words, an attempt at probably the most famous classical song in the world. This is NOT an attempt but a fantastic version that could grace the stage of any opera house no problem at all and just shows the rang these two have.

I love that they take any genre seriously. Solid and emotionally on target, the emotional intensity is matched to the lyrics. Well done. 👍

Absolutely stunning. I adored Luciano Pavarotti and this performance brought a smile to my face and tears in my eyes. Rob's and Austin's voices are exquisite.

Our men can sing ANYTHING!! BRAVISSIMI!! Austin talked Rob into doing this. Austin is trained in musical theater, Rob in vocal performance. Rob hasn't sung opera in about 15 years, and was quite nervous about it. I'm so glad they did this.

Totally agree, would stand up in any concert hall !!!! Rob did study opera in college, and Austin college professors tried to talk him into trying an operatic career, but glad he didn't....I'm still mind-blown

Aparently Austin went back and re-recorded his track after he heard Rob as even after 15 years away from the style he still has a great tone.

Totally agree. Rob has the more operatic voice but they both did brilliantly. This is the only version of the song I've ever actually enjoyed.

Great Reaction! I have never been a fan of opera except maybe some Andrea Bocelli & a few others. But I have always appreciated the talent it takes to sing opera. I was pretty impressed with Rob & Austin's version of Nessun Dorma. I have heard this famous song done by Pavarotti. I think I was more surprised by Rob's range & powerful delivery than even Austin's. Pretty good for a couple of country boys! Nice to see them dressed up in suits & looking classy.

Going into this song, unlike most reactors who have been completely dumbfounded by what they were hearing, appreciate your confidence in the guys' abilities. Knew Rob had opera training many years ago. I'm not particularly a fan of opera but very familiar with this song. This has received overwhelmingly positive feedback so hope Rob and Austin...along with perhaps the rest of the Home Free guys?...will be willing to venture into more, new projects like this which can only help to expand their audience.

Rob studied opera at college, though that was 15 years ago. Austin has been talking about recording this for at least a year. With the development of his voice over the last few years, he felt confident to do it and to persuade Rob (for whom he feels enormous love and respect) to resurrect his opera chops in a joint venture. They both perform magnificently, as you say, worthy of any classical concert. There is so much intelligence, expressiveness and heart in their performance.

Yes, this is insane. It is extremely good. Fantastic. Both are doing great. But Rob, I'm perplexed. His voice is just magical, so rich, so warm, so powerfull. Chills just ran through my body. It flows into my heart. For me he will be able to stand with the greatest of opera singers. It's not often that I listen to songs by opera singers 5 times and more in a row. But here it is. Of course I hope that both will always continue to do Home Free, but I wouldn't think it wrong that such "trips" are made more often. Opera, country, ballads, soul etc. I think anything is possible..

For two guys who sing everything except opera, I think Pavarotti would be jealous since he studied & sang opera all his life & Rob & Austin stepped up & did such an incredible version of this song with very little classical training 15+ years ago! 🤗😘😊

Loved it! Rob apparently studied opera in college and Austin is classically trained so I expected it to be good but not this good! I thought it was beautiful, wonderful, incredible. You had no doubts….good of you! Great reaction Richard. 🥰

I think we were all shocked by this one. My background is like Austin in Musical Theatre and I've certainly never heard anyone not fully trained in opera do this so well before.

Technically I believe Rob is classically trained and Austin theatrically trained, but yes Rob has opera training and Austin doesn't (perhaps with the exception of some tutoring from Rob).

You are the first reactor who had full confidence that they very well could perform this before watching, and didn’t have a shocked look on their face when Rob started singing his face off. I must say I appreciate your confidence in them realizing the vast extension of their talent! Thanks you, Richard! Love that! I remember Amberly (Austin’s girlfriend) giving us warning that we’ve never heard Rob like this ever. I was totally surprised, but in fairness, I didn’t know it was going to be an aria until I first saw the title of the video right before watching. Most of us knew Austin had training in musical theater so I wasn’t surprised with Austin. I didn’t know (even after being a Home Fry since their season of the Sing Off) that Rob studied and performed opera his 4 years of college. He hasn’t sang opera in 15 years, so this was beyond my expectations! Love it!

Having been around performers for over 30 years you sort of get used to ppl doing things out of the box and shocking you. All members of Home Free are so talented you just know they could be given any song and do it well :D

The other thing I find most interesting about this song is that it's a tenor solo, and they're doing it as a duet! Not really an opera person, but would an opera singer have thought to even do that? These guys, and their Home Free compatriots are famous for putting their own signature on songs. I've seen it written that Home Free doesn't do covers; they do upgrades. I believe that!

I saw someone from Europe comment that there seems to be more negativity from opera buffs in the US than in Europe where it seems to be common to allow for mixing genres such as this with classical X classical-crossover like what Maggie R was referencing.

Great reaction. These two gentlemen can sing anything, as you mentioned. A couple of reaction channels said that they preferred Pavarotti's version. Come on ! Pavarotti is Pavarotti. Austin and Rob aren't trying to be him. Just stated " Two Country Singers Trying Opera ". Rob and Austin are part of a capella group Home Free. They cross all spectrums. Comedy, " Butts Medley ", Pop, Rock, Country, Sea Medley, Parody, Musical Theatre with Austin singing " Bring Him Home "

@@richardlaundon I like your open mindedness. Maybe I was too offended by one reaction channel and that set me off, lol. Being a southern gal myself, born and bred Texan, I took what he said too seriously. It took Austin awhile to convince Rob into doing this. Negative comparisons might have contributed to his reluctance to attempt this .

Love this! If you make the video as big as your face and the face the size of the video you are reviewing would be much better for us older viewers. I actually pick my review videos I subscribe to based on video size. Please make it bigger like your reactions so far, smaller you bigger video please!
