I love it when women are introduced to Band Maid. Us guys have been rocking out to them, in my case, for several years. Moratorium, real existence are some of my old favorites that are ''heavy''. This song is more pop-punk, and also is one of my recent favs. But you pick up any song from their latest album "unseen world" and you'll see something very different. More artistically audacious I'd say. Onset and without holding back are two of their instrumentals that appeal to me. Their songs are often complex and fairly experimental. You'll hear so many different elements in their songs. I have like 50 favorite band-maid songs out of my band-maid only playlist with 80+ songs. I know many people recommend freedom for Akane's drumming solo, but I personally think her drumming in Alone, Play and of course Onset are more unique and exciting. I was about to write: I told you so ;) Did join your channel with Nightwish, and love Band-maid just as much as my finnish neighours. The Image isn't a convincidence: Miku (Back vocals/rythm guitar) started working at this maid-themed cafè after a failed career in a J-pop group. But she was hungry for more and liked the concept of sweet maid-girls playing hard-rock. So she met Kanami (lead-guitar) on internet where she was giving lessons and was an aspiring singer/songwriter. She knew about a drummer named Akane, whom she had done a few songs with, who again knew a bassist from music-school. it wasnt easy bringing her on because of the image, but as you might see: they made compromises and gave her an assassin-look. When rehearsing one thing came apparent for Miku: She didn't feel her voice made justice for the style of music. So they brought in Saiki from same management as Miku and tricked her to join because of the image, but just as Misa got her own look after a while. My recommendations? Jeeez.... They have all from soothing ballads to duracell-rabbit bpm songs. To get more of a feel for where they came from "Thrill" (video) might be a good follow up? It was their first video as far as i know, and in many ways saved their career. They had struggled for a while being taken seriously, and was on the verge of being split, when it suddenly started to live its life on social media. Surprisingly outside Japan. Nice reaction. You're in for a fun ride. This band is top-shelf. They have so many good songs it's kind of ridiculous. (They have over 100 songs in their catalog, and on Spotify, I simply play them all on shuffle - and I mean all, even their early stuff that they didn't write themselves. I normally only skip songs that I've heard too many times and need a break from lol.) From their YT channel, I'll recommend Daydreaming (soft), Warning (hard) and Onset (instrumental).

Welcome to the best and most fun (and most addicting) rock band in the world. They truly are incredible and awesome. You're going to be inundated with suggestions, so I'll just say this - you need to listen to at least 5 or 6 of their songs to "get" them, because they can do so many different things spectacularly well. Their songs don't sound the same. This was a good one to start off with, because it showcases their virtuosity, songwriting skills (you'll note that the song structure itself is not the same old thing), and their special magical skill of putting you in a MUCH better mood then before you listened to them. They are a mood lifter. They do ballads, hard rock with occasional forays into metal or punk - really anything. They are also a super fun band to follow - very live concert oriented too, and very conscious and caring toward their fan base. That's why there is a Maidiac Army - which you are probably already finding out, who are completely and utterly (and proudly) obsessed with them. They are phenomenal - spread the word, because it's criminal they aren't one of the most well known bands in the world. Cheers!

These ladies are WAY better live. While there isn't a live video of this one, there is a live video of what myself and many other fans consider to be Saiki's (lead vocals) masterpiece, Wonderland, from their last show before the pandemic shut everything down. (They were going to play both Knotfest Japan and Inkcarceration in 2020...disappointment indeed [not to mention that they're playing in my city later this year, and damn near the entire tour sold out within days of tickets going on sale- before I could get a ticket].) They've also done a couple songs for anime: Glory for Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS and Different for Log Horizon. (Not to mention that their video for Bubble is modeled after scenes from Bohemian Rhapsody.)
