@@Tami9 Both songs were released year after year. The problem in your theory that I can see here is the delay in releasing recordings for other countries as well as the so-called "Iron Curtain" (rised by comunists) which prevented or even further delayed the acquisition of goods from Western countries (by about 5-10 years).

He also used to make his outfits. Father of my best friend from school was Niemen's best friend from musick school. He was truly remarkable man. They both were. Both coming from poverty and both worked very hard for their success. Dad of my friend was head teacher of musick school and well known luthier. I remember when Czesław Niemen died, my friend told me that her father kept say "Chesiu has die, now is my turn". She thought that it was out of depression from his loss, but unfortunatelly he passed away one year later.

Czesław Niemen (Tcheslav Neman) was an absolute legend. The song is a protest. Protest against hate between human beings. Quite on time now, despite the song being from 1967. The last verse: "Nienawiść zniszczyć w sobie" means to destroy the hate within yourself. Hate that can poses you and drive you to hurt other people. With words that are able to kill just as a knife. Fun fact: Chemical Brothers used samples from his 1975 "Niemen Aerolit" LP in "The Test" song from their 4th album "Come With Us"

Many times I had to ask: are you sure? So many consantans in a row? 😄 And I thought my language is difficult ! But yes, polish were very nice people.

Lecz ludzi dobrej woli jest więcej I mocno wierzę w to, że ten świat Nie zginie nigdy dzięki nim. Nie! Nie! Nie! Nie! Przyszedł już czas, Najwyższy czas, Nienawiść zniszczyć w sobie. But there is more people of good will, And I strongly believe, That this world will survive thanks to them No,no,no,no There comes the time The highest time to destroy hatred that exist inside of us. So the person who translated the song seems to use “he” as the world . I think that probably the lyrics were translated by “web” translator And the part with hatred, the meaning is to destroy hatred that we have inside of us. I’m not fluent English speaker and I don’t think I translated that part really accurate (as professional would do), but I think it has more sense now. Hope it helps. The song is from 1967.

Czesław Niemen is the most outstanding Polish singer and innovative composer. Listen to his live concerts. He is a brilliant man who should gain world renown, but he lived in inappropriate times - communism in Poland and confinement to freedom. But Czesław Niemen has always been a free man in his soul, despite the fact that so many bad things happened to him before 1989, when Poland regained its freedom. It is a great regret that we will not hear his compositions and wonderful voice anymore, but get to know his songs - it's worth it. Listen, for example, to the song on YT : "Klęcząc przed Tobą" or "Bema pamięci rapsod żałobny" or "Jednego serca". There are many wonderful compositions composed by Czesław Niemen and performed by him vocally. Great job Poul. Can you please do video to Skaldowie & Weglorz. Song name is: Nie widze ciebie w swych marzeniach. This song was written by Andrzej Zielinski in 1977 for Czeslaw Niemen but for some reason he never sang it. I guarantee you will be pleasantly surprised. Regards from Germany

Yeah, the lyrics was from google translate, though you can guess what he sings about. Sadly, Czasław Niemen is no more with us in this world. "Dziwny jest ten świat" comes from first album of his entire song-writer, and composer carrier. It became huge hit, and it's one of the most recognizable songs of his. If you liked it, try listen to "Com uczynił", or "Cztery ściany świata". The song that you reacted to, is an anti-violence/anti-war type of song. "He" is there, because of the wrong grammar interpretation - in polish we've got 7 grammatical cases, and words are slightly different in everyone of each of those (many centuries ago English also had grammatical cases, but now it got only one - nominative case). "Świat", which means "the world" in polish, is treated as a "he", and not like in English - "it". "High time" - it should be something like: "Finally, the time has come". "Hate to destroy in yourself" should be more like: "to destroy the hatred in oneself ". Edit: That was uploaded 11 years ago, but the song is from 1967 ;) . Edit2: As for other interesting polish songs, you should definitely check out "Budka Suflera - Jest taki samotny dom", "Maanam - Oddech szczura", "Perfect - Pepe wróć". Edit3: You should pronounce his name more like "chess" + "wuv".

Czesław Niemen was one of the last popular singers who sang unique polish letter "ł" more like "l" which was maybe not "ancient" yet, but for sure already kind of "old - fashion" and described as "stagey" in his days. So i feel that it would be honour for Him to read his name like "chess" + "love" :)

@@miosawolejnik6155 it’s more like Russian Л, to this day you can hear it in villages and small towns east from Łódź. My Polish granny pronounced it like that and so do I (whenever I get the chance to speak Polish, I’ve lived abroad for a while and have a foreign husband, friends) She also moved to a village near Łowicz where everyone would say Л instead of Ł (especially elderly) but it’s probably a still alive trace of tragic history of the country.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I came back to my childhood with that song. Try to listen to "Pod papugami", "Sen o Warszawie", "Wspomnienie" and other Polish artist, for example: Ewa Demarczyk "Tomaszów", Anna German "Człowieczy los", "Tańczące Eurydyki", Edmunt Fetting "Nim wstanie dzień" (music by Krzysztof Komeda - Roman Polański's friend and composer), Czerwone gitary "Biały krzyż" (beautiful, emotional lyrics) or Violetta Villas "Do Ciebie Mamo" and many, many Polish artists. Music is the great international language.😃 Thanks, once again 🥰 P. S. We read "w" like"v" in Polish. LOVE from Poland. 🥰🇵🇱

Well that was a complete surprise when I saw this reaction from you :) Czesław Niemen - Dziwny jest ten świat (Strange is this world). This is a hit and very well known song in Poland and very well known singer wiith very unique talent and voice. He is favourite singers of my parents and mine too. As a Pole I am happy that you loved his singing and this song. Yes this song is inspired by It's a man's man's world by James Brown. It has strong message also, You say you can hear he is angry at something - he is angry that there is still so much evil in the world and like he sings man despises a man. But he hopes that people of good will will not let this world to get destroyed and it is highest time to destroy hate in yourself, meaning to stop hating other people. And at one point translation was wrong when you did not undestand and asked "who is he", it should be "it" actually, meaning "the world". In Polish language world "world" - "świat" is masculinum - Polish nouns have 3 genders - masculinum, femininum, neutrum. That's why it was translated as "he". I hope you will listen to other Czesław Niemen's song, he was really unique and talented singer. Greetings from Poland - Karolina

8:34 It should be translated as "it" not "he" - and of course it reffers to the world. Niemen hopes that the world ("he") will never die thanks to the people of good will. The translation about the hate may sound odd because Niemen used a non-typical word order (to sound more poetic) which is perfectly fine grammarwise in Polish but when translated word for word into English is a bit confusing. So what he says is "The time has come yet, the highest time, to destroy the hatred within (yourself)"

Ok, I'll add- he is a legend. I wasn't around at 60s or 70s, my parents told me in 80s lot of stories about him. I was mesmerized by his voice. He had unusual personality too, very gentle. If you could watch an interview with him, you would hear how gently he was speaking. Whenever he toured he was noticed. For example- Clive Davis wanted to sing him. But he lived in Poland and that's why you don't know him....sad. At his times, he was considered to be controversial...so many aneqdots. So I look forward for your next reaction to one of his songs.

Thank you for this video******* BTW: this song is from 1967. yes - it reminds Jamesa Browna ( inspiration from that song....) + about translation & your questions - it should be more like this: ''... and I strongly believe that this world will never die again ...'' ''.... the time has come - the highest time - to destroy the hate within yourself .'' I hope that will be helpful:) Once again, many thanks & best wishes*****

Well, are we counting Warsaw as well then? I mean, as the east part of the country? Because my family from dad’s side, generations of Varsovians, speak and sing with the same accent. So do I. I’m part Russian but it had showed in my accent only before I went to school. Other Varsovian kids would speak with same manner. I am asking, because I feel like you might mean Kresy and indicate how people specifically from there talk like that. I might be wrong, tho ☺️ Szczęśliwego Nowego Roku!

I would like to recommend you to listen to three Polish evergreens. All of them from the early 70's. The first one is “Zegarmistrz Swiatła Purpurowy” which means "The Purple Light Watchmaker" (the death - person) by Tadeusz Woźniak. The chorus begins with the words: "And when the purple light watchmaker comes to get me to light blue in my head, I'll be bright and ready ..." Notice how joyful this song is. There was a version on KZfaq that had over 17 million views, but was removed due to copyright. It got a lot of positive comments from all over the world. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/d5phg6ll0bvPops.html The second song is „Jest taki samotny dom” which means "There is such a lonely house" by one of the best Polish rock bands called "Budka Suflera". The chorus begins with the words: “And after the night comes the day, and after the storm comes peace. Suddenly, the birds wake me up, beating against the windows ... " kzfaq.info/get/bejne/rbqPgsWCsrnXY4k.html The third one is "Swallow" (imprisoned). This is a song about the desire for freedom. Let me remind you, it is the 1970s in Poland. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/r5qZZ8KWnLqbeZs.html

He sings that this world is strange because people hate each other and cut themselves with words like a sword. It kills us, but he doesn't want such a world. He knows that there are more people with a good heart attitude and he wants these people to change it for a better life in the world. He doesn't want people to hate other people and kill themselves. He calls people to do good. (I am Polish)
