While Doctor Who reactions ARE NOT officially back on a regular schedule, this first episode was surprisingly not hit with any copyright issues. So, instead of making you wait until the following episodes are ready and I'm able to bring them back on a regular weekly schedule, I figured I would go ahead and release it now as a thank you for being so patient over the past several months.

I was 13 when I started Doctor Who I'm 25 now. At the time I lost my dad due to a heart attack, and a week later I was in a bad car crash, my arm and leg were broken. I was browsing Netflix and saw Doctor Who and typically I'm not a fan of alien Sci-fi but I do love Time Travel. I thought the show was ok for the first 7 episodes but it didn't hook me, I usually give a show one season to get me hooked or not. But this episode hit home for multiple reasons, I was in shambles the whole episode and I have never cried watching a show before this one. This episode is the reason Doctor Who means so much to me, Doctor Who got me through a really rough time. Ironically I started Supernatural a couple years after, because people have told me it's similar to how Doctor Who is structured, and I fell in love with Supernatural which my Fave character is Dean due to the fact he shares the same name as my Dad and his personality.

It's an amazing episode and it's considered loved by many in the fandom although the CGI time reapers are bit dated now but the beauty of Doctor Who is the crappy special effects as it's part of it's charm.
@BritanyBinges
@BritanyBinges Жыл бұрын
Yeah, I don't really fault the effects. It's a nearly 20-year-old episode and a tv show rather than a movie with a massive budget. Honestly, I feel like the effects are pretty decent most of the time. Plus, I've been reacting to Classic Who as well, so, it's all relative when it comes to effects. lol

I'm really, really sorry about what you and your dad have gone through, with his cancer. But I will say, you're videos are incredible and I love watching you react to this show. It's an incredible show that deals with so many themes, including of course, the loss of a loved one. And when it comes to parents, it's one of the hardest things to even think about. You're so strong for watching this and to then talk about how you relate to the feelings of the episode on camera. Keep up the phenomenal work, and I wish nothing but the best for you and your dad
@andrewbowman4611

This is a very emotional episode and one which, bizarrely, divided opinion at the time. Some people claimed it was too soppy for Doctor Who or some such nonsense. Personally, I think it's a beautiful piece of work, written by Paul Cornell, who would go on to write Human Nature/The Family of Blood for Series 3. That, of course, was adapted from his own Doctor Who novel published in the 1990s. One of the oddest criticisms of this is regarding the moment Rose touches the baby, despite being told not to. I feel this criticism ignores the involuntary instinct to protect children from harm, an action best achieved by holding them. On top of that, you've got Rose's maternal instincts kicking in at that moment as well. Anyway, I digress: it's lovely to see you back, however briefly, and I hope it won't be too long until we see you again.
@BritanyBinges
@BritanyBinges Жыл бұрын
Honestly, I needed something soppy from the show at this point. I personally think the show shines in episodes like this. Regarding Rose, I mean... yeah. Of course she was going to take the baby. In was a quick thing that happened and she reacted on instinct. It's no different that when someone unexpectedly throws something at you. You're already trying to catch it before you even realize what you're doing. It made sense to me.

I'm so happy you're kinda back. Hopefully the copyright situation gets sorted soon and you can have regular uploads. I really really missed you. I checked nearly on a weekly basis, of you have posted a new update. And because I saw it in another comment, don't be afraid to leave some scenes in when you are crying. It might seem repetitive, but to doctor who fans it's more of experiencing shared pain and I don't mind seeing lots of that. Especially when you consider that a show must be really good to make someone cry

Welp, back to the grind of getting these on this platform that exists called KZfaq without copyright. You know, can we just admit that Series 1 is arguably perfect, even it's worse episodes are atleast good. And honestly, while I'm thankful extended media has fleshed out the 9th Doctor even more, this series has such a through line from being broken and willing to commit the very things The Doctor is against to finally being What The Doctor stands for fully, as he said "Everyone Lives, Rose.
