What an ending.... Thanks to Arjen, my music world EXPLODED!!!! First powerful start from Damian Wilson, then hard rock John Cuijpers plus double dose of Jansen sisters, and then Everybody 🤘🤩🤘. This song is a tribute to the "Stargate" movie 1994 (An interstellar teleportation device, found in Egypt, leads to a planet with humans resembling ancient Egyptians who worship the god Ra.). Huge Stargate fan here by the way 😁! And this song is from Arjen's another projects called "Star One". there are 3 of them now (And Yes, I have them ALL) , they are not concept albums , but tributes to many different sci-fi movies and TV-shows NWSU/Ayreonaut ✌😁🤘

You can't mention Ayreon, without slipping in Steven Wilson. He is (or was) one of the most active in the prog-universe last 25 years. Either as an artist in a numerous of projects and bands, but also as a producer. With his good ear he also got the honor of re-mixing all King Crimsons back-catalogue. As introduction, I might go for his masterpiece "Anesthetize" (official live, Tilburg) 17 minutes of pure bliss. Always keeps your attention as it runs through phazes. Keep an eye of the drummer. Gavin Harrison is a true master of the ghost-notes.

Every time I watch this finale, it brings tears of happiness to my eyes. That singer with blonde curls is John Cuijpers (Jaycee) who is vocalist in Arjen's new project/band Supersonic Revolution.

It's so funny, I can pick out the singers I am most familiar with. Marcella went HARD. Can't miss Mike Mills - the Aussie who I've been lucky enough to see playing as well as being a punter at another gig. I can always hear Marko lol. Bless Arjen

The first singer is Damian Wilson, a well renowned singer in the prog scene but I still feel he isn't widely known enough. From the same show, "And The Druids Turned To Stone" is a great showcase of his abilities. He also sings on The Castle Hall from the same show which is worth checking out. Then there's the Electric Castle live show with Damian singing whilst dressed as a Knight, from which I'd recommend "Isis and Osiris" and "The Mirror Maze". The blonde guy who looks like he could be a viking raider is John Jaycee Cuijpers. "Dawn of a Million Souls" from the same show has him on lead vocals, and he also sings in "The Two Gates". Unfortunately the version from the Electric Castle live show was removed from youtube, but the one from Ayreon Universe is still good. He plays the Barbarian in Electric Castle live, and I'd recommend "Garden of Emotions" from that show which features him. I'd guess you've already seen around half of the singers on the stage, but one you haven't reacted to yet is Jonas Renske, the gloomy looking one next to Tommy Karevik at 8:28. He's the frontman of Swedish heavy metal band Katatonia who have a criminally low amount of reaction videos about them. They started off as a death metal band before transitioning to heavy metal, and then began to incorporate more progressive elements into their music. I'd recommend starting with the music video for their song "Lethean". Alternatively you could listen to "Comatose" and "Waking Dreams" from Ayreon Universe which both feature Jonas and Anneke on lead vocals. I may be biased since I'm a giant fan but you really should react to them.

For me the first Singer is a pure Pop Singer, maybe a lost Son of the Bee Gees. I'm an old school Metall Head and a male Metall Singer have to have a bit agressive and raw voice. Never liked Bands like Blind Guardian, Dream Theatre or anything like this. 😬

What if we make a deal? Just work your way through the whole Universe concert, song by song, and then following it up with the whole Electric Castle concert (also song by song. And you'll get a nice surprise there, especially if you're a Star Trek fan). By the time you've gone through both concerts completely, his next concert (september 2023 in Tilburg) might be coming online by then...

The singer with the curly hair is Johm Jaycee Cuijpers, who is the singer in Praying Mantis, He is Arjens goto guy when recording to produce guide vocals and work out the details on songs, they have been friends for a very long time. he sang the lead on the alternative version of the Star One Album Revel in Time, he also sang all of the guide tracks. Floor and Irene singing together are so good as they sing little slides around each others vocal, switching lead all the time. The Eye of Ra is just the best curtain call to end a fantastic concert

The original version of this song is from a separate Arjen project called "Star One". Most of the Star One songs from those records are each related to a Sci-Fi movie, show or concept. This particular song is inspired by / taken from the move Stargate, hence the reference to the seven signs, which are the seven symbols needed to enter the address of Earth. Some other fun facts, the first Star One release "Space Metal" (2002) also was one of the first records where Floor Jansen, along with her sister Irene, who were "discovered" by Arjen, were featured as singers. Floor was 18 or 19 when she first sang and performed with Star One. Also featured was Russell Allen from SymphonyX and Damian Wilson. This live Ayreon performance revisits the original Star One - Live On Earth 2003 DVD show, which you can also find on KZfaq and would be a fun reaction to watch end to end. The entire show was great, and while the quality of video back then is not great, the music still sounds amazing.

Actually, Arjen has recorded a "we are the world"-like song: The power of love! With truly all the great names in (Dutch) metal: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/sLiYaZOGvbvIlXk.html It's a cover of a Frankie Goes To Hollywood song. Furthermore: that blond curly dude with the medieval voice is called John 'Jaycee' Cuypers. Arjen is the ony one who is allowed to call him Johnny (or Sjonnie in Dutch), and he's Arjen's regular sparring partner when it comes to vocals. Aside from that: John lives in my hometown Venlo :) Oh, and of course you'll hear the Hammond B3 in the second part of the song! Once again: a great reaction. We need more Ayreon! (not more cowbells though LOL)

I might could be a Gurkha. Well, except not being Nepalese JayCee (John Cuijpers) was the blonde with curls. Mike Mills was the Doc with the colander on his head (playing TH1 again) JayCee is singing on Arjen's latest to come album with Supersonic Revolution. iirc JayCee also has sung for a Foreigner tribute band and a Hagar era Van Halen tribute band. so much talent on the stage, it's amazing the place stayed upright.

Another great choice. You really can't go wrong with Arjen in his various guises. Personally I enjoy his early Star One 2003 live concert. From about 17:30 he says something about a thing about Arjan that made me realize (more) his brilliance in a much more eloquent way then I can. It's about unity in style and sound and I could not agree more. I am a feely guy and theories/connections/history are lost to me.... But it is nice to be shown some perspective

I was there. Also, John J. Cuijpers is the guy with the curly hair who looks like a heavy metal lion. Mike Mills is the aussie who always wears a toque. They both have a large range but the former has a lot more grit and old rock'n'roll snarl. The latter is cleaner with very poignant diction.

No that's Jaycee Culpiers. Mike sings Everybody Dies, Theory of Everything and Loser this concert. Jaycee's main song this concert is Dawn of Million Souls originally sung by Russell Allan on Star One.

A song inspired by the movie "Star Gate". Great way to end the show. The whole crew and all of the musicians came out in celebration of the finale. I also love the Hammond sound. Ever since Heep & Purple, and so many more. The sound of a powerful Hammond with the guitar is so huge. You are so right it started before those guys. Arjen pulls in so many great vocalists and musicians. I am Concur-pa!

You know you should occasionally react to some of the great bands we used to have here in the USA that started everything with metal I recognize most of the people you talk about but I am old, to prove how old I am the first concert I went to when I was 13 was Alice Cooper:) but some of the younger people need to be educated on where and how the music they listen to now came about just an idea God bless

Yet another suggestion from me now. It's NOT metal, prog or anything related to rock, but I'm sure it's worth your while listening to: a pagan folk group from Germany called Faun. In this song, there's a guest appearance by Einar Selvik, lead vocalist of Wardruna (Denmark, I believe), and the video is from a live show. Praw! Ha ha, you know Traffic? Steve Winwood in his hippie phase…You must be as ancient as I am😮 And I checked the original version: it has a quite heavy bass, but your version has too much bass 😢
