I met David Gilmour in 1984 back stage at a concert in Hollywood Calif. He gave me a signed album that I have in my music room. We talked for 22 minutes. I called him…“The Master Of The Stratocaster” He smiled. I asked if I could shake both his hands that make such great guitar solos, he smiled bigger and said “Sure” and shook both hands at the same time, making a cross between us, I smiled HUGE. I asked him to describe his technique of playing guitar, he replied… “I strike a note, bend it, shake it and then release it”…. Yes, he does that quite well.

For me Pink Floyd is like your candy their live shows are always fantastic. We have to give kudos to whoever set up the stage Pink Floyd has always been grateful I've they've always had some kind of laser show. in the early 60s and 70s people just start dancing and ever since they've always had back up singers and dancers. I saw the Pink Floyd band I saw the Wall tour and Dark Side of the Moon tour I tried to get tickets to this concert but it's sold out in a matter of hours. Nobody ever reacts gnask concert it's just as good as this but he has a backup Orchestra Echoes is beautiful

I was at a PF Pulse concert in Heidelberg, Germany in 94. The production was just immense and swallowed you whole. The music was awesome and there were over 140K people in attendance! The laser show was out of this world! An experience I'll never forget. They're just so good! Gilmore's guitar reigns supreme as the soaring sounds take you away! Until I started listening to PF, I didn't know how that sound was coming from a guitar?! Unbelievable, but worth every penny!

I saw this same show in N.Y. 1994. The concert brochure said the stage is 120 feet wide. It takes a crew of 60 technicians three days to set up the entire lights and all. The concert schedule required that there had to be three entire crews to keep up. They leap frogged each other for 92 shows with 20 Trucks per crew and a total staff of 195. The tour cost the promoters $98.MILLION to put on, but the total profit was $260 MILLION… I have seen Pink Floyd 4 times. Nick Mason’s drumming is incredible and matches Gilmour’s guitar emotions while Richard Wright takes us on a Magic Carpet Ride of tones that form the foundation of it all.

See that stage? They had 2 of those things built......modeled after the Hollywood Bowl. I think there were something like 117 big rigs transporting it....and the speakers & lasers across the country. While they were playing a couple of shows in one town, there was an army of guys setting up the 2nd stage in the next. There was a full-size Pink Floyd blimp also. I don't think they could fly it in Oakland ( where I saw them on 2 nights ) due to the winds.

Keep in mind that they needed three stage set-up's for the P.U.L.S.E. tour. Each identical stage set cost $4,000,000, so $12 Million just in equipment. Then figure about 80 roadies to do the set up's and break down's. Because you had a crew tearing down where the band had just played, then another crew setting up for the next show and they were playing at the third stage set. They sold out 100,000 people show's. They put on a show, no an experience.
