You can tell Cam grew up with the Pokemon anime as well as the games and hearing Ash retiring as it's protagonist stuck him a bit. This was a great tribute to our favorite Pokemon champion. Great job, Cam :)

I tear up at the end. That hits super hrd because I've been a casual follower of Pokemon and Ash is finally stepping off the stage. It's like a piece of what defined out childhood is finally gone. Late, but I'm like 99% sure that Cam only requested people not to pause because when he said the "It's time to pass the torch as I dethrone my final foe" line, the instrumental slows and gets a bit more emotional, which I think some would confuse as the end of the song and click off.

Don't Pause! Yeah, this love to a character that some have been following continuously for 20+ years and have grown to love. Cam's ending needed to not be paused on for the emotions it brings out. I stopped watching the anime in Hoenn, because it became more difficult to watch as i had things going on during Saturday that i was more in to, but i kept abreast of events in the rest of the generations of anime, like Tobias having a fking Darkrai, Latios, and apparently an Entei too, maybe that was a fan-thing, and how Ash got so close to winning a championship in X&Y but was basically cucked out of it by the writers in an attempt to get one more season out of Ash so he coukd go to Alola. As a casual enjoyer of Nerdcore raps, as im not a huge fan of most rap music, its difficult to pick a "best verse," as all lf them were great.

My headcannon is Ash has a similar condition to me, having a body that doesn't change much from a young age. My body hasn't grown at all since I was about 13, and a lot of people just assume that's how old I am. I believe Ash is the same and just doesn't bother to correct anyone for making the mistake.
