Ash Ketchum (Japanese: サトシ Satoshi) is the main character of the Pokémon anime from the original series to Pokémon Journeys: The Series. He is also the main character of various manga based on the anime, including The Electric Tale of Pikachu, Ash & Pikachu, and Pocket Monsters Diamond & Pearl.
He is a Pokémon Trainer from Pallet Town whose goal is to become a Pokémon Master. His starter Pokémon was a Pikachu that he received from Professor Oak after arriving late at his laboratory. On his journeys around the Pokémon world, he's been accompanied by a multitude of close friends. In Pokémon the Series: Sun & Moon, he becomes the first Champion of the Alola region's Pokémon League. In Pokémon Journeys: The Series, he becomes the new Monarch of the Pokémon World Coronation Series.
He shares his Japanese name with the creator of the Pokémon franchise, Satoshi Tajiri. His English surname is a pun on the English motto, "Gotta catch 'em all!"

This really did hit something special. You could tell from the first verse than this wasn’t just any fun cypher: it was a tribute/piece of art full of love. You may not know much about the franchise, but I can see you being a viable candidate for a Galar Gym Leader Cypher (you can even use your native accent there, which I want to hear more in your rapping). Cam really out here trying to get me to cry with that ending. This was more than just a cypher, it was a love letter to Ash, the kid who was there throughout our childhood into adulthood. Thank you Ash, thank you Cam and everyone who put their heart and soul into this musical story of Ashe Ketchum. It's not about the destination it's about the journey... Ham Sandwich really killed me with this line "Got to the semis and... Wait he has who on his team?" This one cut deep, man. It’s so crazy to see just how big of an impact Ash left on so many people and I honestly still can’t believe the journey is finally coming to an end. Y’all absolutely crushed not just these verses but my heart as well. I was already in tears before the final few lines 😭. This was just such a great reminder of exactly what Ash embodied: the journey is just beginning, so what’s next? It’s crazy to me that I’m kind of moving on to the next stage in my own life at the same time Ash is moving on in his and this song reminded me to just keep my head up and smile about it. Thank y’all for being so amazing and thank you Ash for everything you’ve been to me and all these people.

20 some years ago, I watched a cartoon about a kid who caught monsters in balls.....the opening theme.....his pikachu...and his journey that was my morning....enjoying everything about this dorky kid and his pikachu.......years later, I am cheering as he battles some of the toughest opponents in the entire series...and finally takes the crown as the very best like no one ever was I can't say I loved everything that Ash did.....but he has earned his title and my complete respect Ash Ketchum: the very best like no one ever was -------------- also, when McGwire started singing during the Kalos verse....I lost my mind, that was so clean

Each verse is its own highlight reel exploring so many moments with Ash during each arc of his career. Man had to overcome obstacle after obstacle in order to achieve what he would go on to do, and the verses and beat do a solid job of illustrating that. On another note, Aloha to the Alola never gets old.

I've put off watching this one because I'm not ready to say goodbye to Ash. I watched the anime back in the days when it was on Kids WB and Brock made jelly donuts instead of rice balls, took a break around Sinnoh, but Ash has always been the childhood friend I've been able to come back to for comfort and support no matter what. I'm saying so many goodbyes irl right now, I can't say it to him yet. I still haven't watched his final episodes, but finally watched this today. And damn. Started tearing up during Kalos and just flat out sobbed at the ending. I've been having a rough time lately, and hearing those last few lines from the friend whose been with me since childhood just hit me. Thank you, Cam. Thank you to everyone who was part of this cypher. And thank you, Ash, for everything. If the new protagonist ends up meaning half as much to new fans as you've meant to me, then new fans are lucky to have an incredible lifelong friend of their own ❤️

This series was my childhood seeing the ups and downs and the evolution. Ash became one of the best trainers in the world what a legend and it all started due to him not waking on time. AMAZING Rap Cam and everyone else!

I mean this has to be the greatest rap cypher of all time, right? Cam I absolutely love this; brought me to literal tears with the end of your verse. 😢 More importantly though, I loved the fact that everyone rapped a long verse, which isn't seen much nowadays in cyphers, but this really encapsulated the journey Ash took since Pallet Town. This is officially my favorite song of all time, not even limited to cyphers, because this masterpiece was so beautifully executed, and nothing will ever change my opinion going forward.
