O giro da câmera invertendo a imagem também indica a mudança da perspectiva, acho que ele entendeu o final, só pensou que tinha mais coisa. Pq ou a câmera girando indica a mudança de perspectiva, ou então é uma alusão a um projétil de bala girando e perseguindo ele e em seguida quebrando a expectativa na cena seguinte, foi o que consegui pensar sobre essa parte.

Fora que, não é culpa nossa se o nome do aís deles é mais uma descrição do que é, do que um nome real. eu fiz um seminário sobre o carimbó no EM sou do do Rio, tinha uma amg com uma consciência racial gigantesca pra idade dela, apresentou a ideia pro resto do grupo e fizemos. lembro q ficamos com medo de sermos barrados de apresentar (fizemos uma demonstração na medida do possível kkkk) justamente pq tem essa ligação forte com as religiões de matriz africana

In a place like Cidade Tiradentes, where people are mostly black the life expectancy is 57 years, in Moema, a white neighborhood, the life expectancy is 81 years. We can see that in the covid crisis too, in the beggining the majority of the cases were in white neighborhoods, but the majority of the deaths were in black neighborhoods.

We do have a specific way to speak in the lgbtq community that is based on most African words that was present here. We call this dialect Pajuba in here. In Brazil race, class, gender, sexuality is all very complex imbricated in one another in the way we speak.

I can add some comments as a linguist, and of course what you said is absolutely true. We have in Brazil a lot of language variations that will be switched according to race, class, gender, sexuality, as well as the region that we live (both inside the country, and the region inside our cities) and we do use Code Switching as a strategy of communication. What we don't have tho is a name of classification for that strategy, such as "Code Switching", so it is uncommon for people to be aware of it when it happens, in a way that is an almost "natural" phenomenon. I dont know about other countries, but when researching about the topic, we just borrowed the term in english ;)

@@luizaferreiradacosta95 Such an interesting topic! I've never hear of "code switching" before but i've experienced this phenomenon in a deep way in my life. I came from a black, lower class rural background, from a small town deep in Minas Gerais to became a psychiatrist in São Paulo, running a masters degree in Drug Use Disorders. I needed to learn many degrees of Code Switching within my profession, as i needed to adress my patients (who range from cocaine dependent lawyers/medics and college students to empoverished alcohol dependent rural workers, drug dealers and homelesses), my colleagues and still come back to my family and friends. It's a crazy thing to read and understand the people i'm addressing to be able to communicate efficiently with such a wide range of people now, for instance, how and when to use "cocaína", "pino", "pó", "padê" or whatever word they use, and how this code switch is crucial to properly access their world and treat them. But we don't even think on it in a regular basis. Furthermore, this cultural and language particularities is why i watch GoonyGoogles's videos. It's amazing to see how our rap and black culture sounds like to someone with a radically different cultural basis. Its fun to see what he thinks of Sabotage's or Racionai's songs. As phrases like "É Zona Sul, Canão, meu bairro, pinotei não deixei rastro /Comentáram sim, forjaram que eu vi, dois Ipanemas no bafo" are a bit hard to fully understand even for native brazilians.

@jotareis exactly! Its a linguistic phenomenon that is part of our daily lives, and sometimes we even use it conciously! We have an amazing researcher on linguistic variations in Brazil called Marcos Bagno, he wrote the book called Preconceito Linguístico that approaches this concept (i believe you can find it for free If you're interested in the topic) And yesss i love to watch the cultural differences and similarities pointed in GoonyGoogle's videos, and i love to see what are his thoughts on it... Its a rly interesting exchange that allow us to learn a lot

Acredito que todo lugar do mundo tem sua diferença linguística, aqui no Brasil, a lingua também se divide por regiões/estados/bairros/cultura e raça. De um modo geral pessoas da periferia tem o seu proprio "dialeto" como você pôde notar nas musicas do Mano Brown, nos trás nossa propria identidade, e isso é notavel em qualquer lugar que passamos ao longo da vida ! Aqui o lema é PJL (Paz, Justiça e Liberdade )

@@JorgefromtheO com a "militância negra" crescendo aqui no br, pessoas negras tem passado a andar apenas com pessoas negras, eu por exemplo sou assim, prefiro andar com pessoas negras, tenho sim amigos brancos porém acredito que pelos gostos as coisas mudam enfim, percebo que pessoas negras no Brasil vem criando sua própria "cultura" ainda não como nós EUA, mas se as coisas continuarem da forma como estão pessoas negras se tornaram ainda mais "unidas" eu espero, é uma das poucas formas de se proteger desse sistema racista, se unindo com os nossos.

Admiro demais o pessoal que ajuda nas legendas do canal e colabora pra essa troca cultural. Isso é importante pra caralho. Os pretos do mundo todo precisam se unir. Algumas pequenas observações sobre a legenda abaixo (por favor, não levem a mal, só quero ajudar...). 2:26 - Ele fala "Professors, teachers". A palavra professor em inglês (se pronuncia proféssor, mais ou menos) é utilizada pra falar de professores de universidade. Teacher é utilizada pra outros tipos de professores. Pode parecer redundante pra quem não sabe disso quando ele fala "professors, teachers", mas ele tá falando de duas categorias diferentes de professores. Talvez quem legendou saiba disso e não deu tempo/espaço na legenda pra acrescentar essa observação, mas de qualquer forma achei legal mencionar. 22:10 - Aqui ele se refere ao Nas, NÃO o Lil Nas X. Nas é um rapper dos anos 90 que com o seu disco de estréia, Illmatic, estabeleceu a base do que seria o Hip Hop dali pra frente. O disco influenciou todas as gerações posteriores de rappers e chega a ser estudado em universidades. Sem ele não haveria Tupac, não haveria Jay Z e, claro, não haveria Lil Nas X, cujo nome é uma homenagem ao rapper (inclusive tem uma colaboração entre o Nas e o Lil Nas X). A música que ele menciona que teve uma participação do pai do Nas se chama Bridging the Gap - não é desse mesmo disco, mas é uma música que fala da importância do blues na música contemporânea. De novo, minha admiração a quem tira tempo do seu dia pra legendar esses vídeos.

Ola amigo, eu faço as legendas do canal e realmente erreino Lil Nas , pessoal deu um toque aqui ja. O professors, teachers entrou com o significado de "mestres, professores" pq algumas legendas ficam mt fora de diagramação se o texto ficar grande, e devido as transições de janela, quando dá eu coloco os parenteses ou contexto. Todo feedback é positivo! E tbm to começando esse canal de podcasts com um viés em ingles tbm, fique convidado a conferir!

Hey!! Answering your question about the way that we speak here: Brazil is a big country, so, different regions of Brazil talk in a different way than other regions. We are always made fun of for having accents, for using expressions and talking in a way that is not the "correct/neutral" that actually ends up being how the upper classes of São Paulo and Brasília speaks. Also, lower class people speaks in a different way of an upper class and, of course, we are seen as uneducated or rude for talking like this, and that's why we tend to speak in this "neutral portuguese" when we are not around people that share the same environment as us. (Btw, we change our way of talking just like y'all, depends on the situation, if it's formal or not, if we can be more friendly or not) Thanks for being so interested in Brazil and our big culture!!!!

that is the film that Baco Exu released before he release his album with the same name. It's a compilation of parts of songs from this album. I really recomend you to listen it entirelly. It doesn't need to be in front of camera, just listen to all the songs, you are going to love it

Maaaaan so glad that you got in touch with Baco, this and his First album is só Sharp and beautifully expressed. Djonga has some dope work and touch the diaspora theme very heavily to. About the language; here we have different types for class and region, less with ethnics, but for sure that exists.

I've watched this music video dozens of times, I love it so much, and only NOW watching it with you I realized something... In the scene of the thumbnail the man is in this etheral and paradisiac landscape, running and jumping around, free and euphoric, exposed but safe, and stops to admire this huge silver monolith. A silver monolith! Thats us! It's showing all black people united in this utopian place. wow such poetic visuals to express the ideals of "Wakanda".
