I always felt Christine McVie was so underrated, most modern the plaudits went to Stevie Nicks and to be fair she had a great voice, but for shear purity and beauty you can't beat Christine McVie. You should also check out Fleetwood Mac's earlier stuff with Peter Green much more edgy and bluesey.

Stevie has more of a unique voice, like no one sounds like her and I can name a few people who sound similar to Christine.. but that’s not to take discredit her incredible talent! She’s very much underrated that I will definitely agree on 💯

@droset7205 just curious who you think sounds like Christine McVie. I think her voice is pretty unique. Stevie on the other hand has Miley Cyrus who sounds very much like her.

So very sad to hear of Christine McVie's passing yesterday. While much of the attention has fallen on Stevie Nicks, Christine's sultry smooth vocals, great musicianship and incredible songwriting were tops for me. RIP to the band's legendary Songbird.

Great reaction. Both Stevie and Christine can really sing. I kind of gravitate to Christine's music though. She has a very clean, soft, and when needed a strong voice. I think she was the catalyst that held FM together and made their music better. ❤🎼🎶

That vocal at the end with both sides doing the staccato slightly delayed to emphasize the right/left is such a masterstroke. It gives truth to the "they are together" two-ness of the entire song. She is expressing her love and need to be with her lover, and then at the end they are both there singing their own parts together. Stevie Nicks is the soul of Fleetwood Mac; Christine McVie is the heart.

Fleetwood Mac are a British-American rock band, formed in London in 1967. Their album "Rumours" (1977) has sold over 40 million copies worldwide, making it one of the best-selling albums in history. All the songs on it are great. They have lots of hits such as "Don't Stop", "You Make Loving Fun", "Second Hand News", "Gold Dust Woman", "Over My Head", "Say You Love Me", "Landslide", "Tusk", "Think About Me", "Sara", "Hold Me", "Love In Store", "Gypsy", "Oh Diane" etc.

The video is based on the story in the poem: 'The Highwayman' by Alfred Noyes. The highwayman's sweetheart shoots herself to give him warning of the ambush and he returns to certain death when he finds out what she did. The poem has a rhythm like a cantering horse and the song carries a similar beat in its background.

Such a beautiful voice! Christine McVie (nee Perfect) has been around Fleetwood Mac from the very beginning. In 1967-68 Christine McVie was in a Blues band called Chicken Shack. They were friends with the members of Fleetwood Mac and operated around the same basic area. If you can find it, there's a recording of Chicken Shack doing "I'd Rather Go Blind" with Christine doing the vocals. It's really worth a listen 💯😎 You should check out Fleetwood Mac's original version of "Black Magic Woman"😯‼️ Yeah, Santana's version is a cover. However, it's so closely associated with Santana that it's hard to think of anyone else doing it. But you should check it out. It was written by Peter Green who also wrote the song "Green Manalishi With the Two Prong Crown". Also originally recorded by Fleetwood Mac, the cover by Judas Priest is pure fire 🔥🔥🔥 It would be fun to watch a reaction/comparison video of an original version of a song and it's better known cover. Just a thought 🤔 Tioraidh an-drasta 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

You should check out some of the early Fleetwood Mac stuff. Like "Oh Well", "Black Magic Woman" and "Green Manalishi With the Two Prong Crown". Original front man and guitarist Peter Green wrote those last two. Then check out "Hypnotized" from the Bob Welsh era. That should give you a good idea of how the Buckingham/Nicks compares.

Her voice was absolutely beautiful. You can’t compare her with Stevie, because they are both completely different as far as their voices, singing style & delivery. That’s what I like most about Fleetwood Mac is the difference in each band member and how they blend so perfectly together.

Christine McVie is also a great keyboardist and songwriter. Check out "Songbird" and "Oh Daddy" from the Rumours album. Stevie gets all the attention, and I am a huge Stevie fan (and had a major crush on her back in the day), but Christie's voice and music has a special place in my heart as well. I can't really pick one over the other. I love them both. The whole band except Stevie are great instrumentalists (though Stevie does play a mean tambourine), and all three primary singers/songwriters (Buckingham, Nicks and Christie McVie) are both killer songwriters and great vocalists, on their own and together. Their voices, so completely different in character and timbre, somehow blend so perfectly.

I was working at a record store when this came out. I remember how many customers came in saying how disappointed they were in this album. "They sold out!" "Just not as good as their old stuff." etc. But I enjoyed it. We played both sides of the album in the store pretty often. I REALLY like Seven Wonders from this same album, a Stevie-led song. Since you like Christine, you might like "Little Lies."

Another Fleetwood Mac song I'd love to see you react to is TUSK - it's SO different & borderline experimental, and yet it's one of my low-key favorites. The "video" - which almost looks like a behind-the-scenes home-movie - is interesting, too, just to see how young they look in it.

Fleetwood Mac’s “Everywhere” was used recently in a Chevrolet television commercial. Also, the official music video of this song shows the story from the famous poem “The Highwayman” by Alfred Noyes. Another singer, Loreena McKennitt, put the poem to music in a song of the same name that is very beautiful.

Note the storyline in this video is of the tragic American Revolution poem of "The Highwayman" who was in love with the girl in the story. They were betrayed to the British. She was tied up by them as her lover rode on horseback to her house. She set off a rifle pointed at her warning him danger, killing herself. Final scene shows they both still haunt the house in their eternal love. Maybe look for Loreena McKinnett's song version "The Highwayman" Maybe react too. McKinnetts Albums "An Ancient Muse" & "Book of Secrets" truly stunning.

That glittering tinkling sound is Lindsey Buckingham playing guitar at half speed and recording at half speed then played at regular speed. Backing vocals are McVie and Buckingham. No Nicks. She spent less than 2 weeks recording over the year and half and most of her vocals were unusable because of too much drugs and alcohol. When she first heard the album she threatened to go to Rolling Stone because she was hardly on it. In addition to doing her own solo tour and rehab she spent months following Tom Petty on tour instead of being in the studio. They then re-recorded some Stevie vocals and Lindsey spliced them into Little Lies but not Everywhere.
