The lyrics are basically describing Mitch and his social anxiety. He’s always been the one to maybe not attend the most things or would be just as happy staying home. Yes those are all their friends. Those of us that have followed their social lives can recognize quite a few people in the video. This was filmed at the house they used to live in together and was a continuous one shot. They said they were really drinking throughout and they filmed it three times so the last one which is what they used they were really starting to feel it.

Whatever tension and conflict there has ever been between Scott and Mitch has always been that Scott in an extrovert and Mitch is an introvert. Since they went separate ways musically, Scott has collaborated on most projects outside of PTX (with Mario, Tori, Rossi and Frankie) while Mitch has chosen to record and film on his own. The reason they work so well together is that they accept each other exactly as they are without trying to change each other.

I think the song perfectly reflects the introvert. You are at a party, but you'd rather be alone. You present a happy front and inside you are looking to get away and hide. You want to be with friends, but you'd rather be one on one or in a small group instead of a party. At times when you are in a crowd you feel invisible. Trying to be a part of the group, but inside you are failing miserably.

You’re right about the party theme being totally at odds with the lyrics. They did the same with another song, the titular track Future Friends- the song is heartbreaking but most people get sidetracked by the amusing theme of the video. Regarding this one- Scott said they moved people around the house from room to room, so there probably wasn’t as many there as It appears. But yes, they are all their friends.

I really love how you listen to the lyrics and think about them. I think this describes many introverts--really don’t want to be there but we put on a happy face. I like how Superfruit dealt with true things

LOVE this song. i relate to the lyrics & mitch's social anxiety SO much, and this music video is probably one of my faves from all that they released on Future Friends :^)

Mitch has some fairly bad social anxiety, so this one is probably based on a true story. The video was filmed in the house Scott and Mitch used to share with people they know. When two guys are holding Mitch upside-down over the keg, the one on the left is Scott’s ex Mason and the one on the right is Scott’s current fianc´e Mark. It’s complicated.

You mean Scott and Mark’s ex. They three of them were very much together. So yeah very complicated considering mark and mason came into it together and now Scott and mark are the ones engaged.

I love that you paid attention to the lyrics. I think their intent was exactly what you felt while watching the mood of the lively party atmosphere and the words letting us in on how they really felt while there. I think that you nailed it.

this was filmed in their house and they said it was a nightmare to clean up after lol the ending scene where they sit on the couch and look at the camera is where they used to film superfruit vlogs! this was a one take video and it took a couple tries so they were definitely feeling the alcohol by this cut lol

They filmed all of these videos on a tight budget,. using free locations, with cheap props and using their own clothes for wardrobe. When you watch Vacation you will spot props shared from this video too.

Liking the haircut! This song perfectly portrays Mitch. Full of Social anxieties and yet a party in his heart. So it's appropriate they are for real having a party, those are for real their friends. That was Mitch's bedroom downstairs and his bathroom full of soapsuds. Love these two, but we all grow up. Great reaction 😎

I love loooove this song. I'm glad you caught on to the message. This was me in my party days. I was a late bloomer and thought I had to be exactly this with alcohol. I'm socially inept and alcohol gave me no modesties. It's kind of a sad tale, this song.

I don't know why i forgot this song, but PTX recorded an EDM song called Seeing Through on their 2014 album. Mitch sings the lead in one of his highest registers and the rest provide percussion, bass and background vocals. I think it is right up your alley.

This is one of my favorite Superfruit songs and I love the video! They filmed it already drunk and yes those are their friends and it was their house. I absolutely love songs that have an upbeat sound and somewhat depressing lyrics lol, it’s my favorite niche.

This whole thing was so relatable to me - I hate too many people, especially when I don't know them, and everyone thinks I should be enjoying the party. This one made me so uneasy the first time I saw it that I didn't listen to it again for months. I definitely feel where Mitch is in this. Not so much now, because I'm past 60 and don't get invited to these kind of parties anymore!

The music reflects the lyrics so well. A party vibe going on hiding the stuff going on inside. Perfectly captures the "partying to drown the bad thoughts" lyrics. The video is a one-shot (not one take... I think this was the 4th take) going through their house. There are loads of their friends in the video. I recognize Pretty Sister who did guy.exe with them and another friend Vincint. The guys that help Mitch with the kegstand are Mark (Scotts fiance) and Mason (their ex). So this is very much a video made with people and places they already have connections with.

Oh my, I now have to go watch the video again. I don't know how I missed Vincint. I love him. After watching the video so many times, I should have noticed before now. Thanks for the info. In June, Scott and Mark will celebrate 5 years together.
