@@JadenMoon1475 don't have to apologize for being right. A New Hope's rematch did have that feel of slowness and also a little boring so again you don't have to apologize for being right.👍 At least they made up for a rematch and gave a pretty good duel in the Kenobi show.

@@JadenMoon1475 The 1977 duel is a masterpiece in itself, it is stated in the dialogue that Vader is amused at how old Obi-Wan is/fights, yet he blocks ALL his attacks, and only dies because he wants to give Luke and the others a chance to escape. Vader was in decline as well, his charred 42-year-old body in cyborg support already in a downward spiral.

Imagining all of Hayden's lines as though spoken by James Earl Jones... FITS. He talks just like Vader in ANH. Nobody noticed it right away, I don't think. Watching the younger generations, unburdened by decades of overexpectation from the OT, seeing the heartbreak of Anakin's fall is what truly redeems the Prequels. Way to go, kids. 🙂

I don't care what anyone says. I absolutely LOVE these movies, and ROTS takes the cake. This is hands down the most heartbreaking part of the Star Wars Saga. Say what you will about Lucas' ability to write dialogue, this hits hard no matter how many times I watch it. Had the pleasure of seeing this in the theater and I was bawling like a baby while tying to not let anyone see, lol. And of course the choreography of the fight and John Williams' music just melt my brain every time.

Ppl seem to be very confused over what Anakin is. A traumatized slaveboy, turned teenage traumatized soldier, who fears loss through death. So he only forms extremely possessive attachments to people. As the war carries on the circle of people he is attached too shrinks. Until its nobody...at that point he will attack everyone...and ends up alone.

In one motion too. He did something that was forbidden by the Jedi due to its cruel, inhumane and humiliating nature. Dismemberment is heavily frowned upon by the Jedi order. But he learned to do it after he defeated Maul in similar fashion, he knew he couldn’t let it happen to himself. Anakin knew of Kenobi’s victory strike and wanted to defeat him with his own move, and believed he could do it. He did not know about the counter that Kenobi had learned.

@@BiriBiri925Noooooo that's so wrong. The dark side is what brings the force out of balance. It's a plague basically. It corrupts anyone who touches it. The Banite sith line became so powerful the force literally willed a being into existence because they were nigh unstoppable. The force isn't a Yin and Yang situation. A lot of people think it is because of the games and other outside source material, but that's not exactly accurate.

@@nashbutler The theory you speak of here that it was necessary to kill all the Jedi to balance the force is not what George Lucas confirmed and seems to have been debunked. You see, the jedi is not an imbalance of the force. Sure, they are an order of odd rules and chokes their jedi into living a life of denying their feelings, and they can certainly be partially held responsible for Anakin's fall because of that, but the Force does not deem the Jedi an imbalance, because they are more balanced in the force than the sith in pretty much every aspect. It is the sith, any sith, that disrupts the balance of the force. Anakin becoming Vader was more of a setback and actually delayed Anakin's destiny as the chosen one to fulfill the prophecy by killing one of the most powerful siths ever, Darth Sideous. There's a difference between the sith and the dark side of the force, though. The dark side of the force is very real, but it is real independently from the sith. Whereas the light is selfless, the dark side is self-interested, but the sith, who perverts everything that is of the force, including their lightsaber crystals which are even synthetic, are not supposed to exist at all. Therefore, Darth Vader only increased the imbalance and furthered it until he became Anakin again and ultimately fulfilled the prophecy.

Something I feel like I’ve observed through all my years of watching Star Wars… I feel like that if Obi-wan came clean to anakin and let him know that he wasn’t alone in feeling attached to people, anakin wouldn’t have felt so much stress about being caught. And truth be told, I don’t think the order would have expelled him since he was the supposed chosen one. It’d be stupid of em to exile their most powerful warrior

I love seeing the first actual reactions to this. Another thing for most of the dialogue in this anakin is speaking pretty similarly to how Vader speaks in the og trilogy. That line of the Jedi turned against me don’t you turn against me to I can hear that in James earl Jones voice so clearly. Like with all that rage and pain he’s feeling he’s just talking less and less and being like Vader where he get straight o business. A lot of people gave Hayden shit for that delivery when it was probably very intentionally written by George to the way it is so it matches up with Vader.

When Obi-Wan says I have the high ground and Anakin jumps and Obi-Wan swings a saber everybody says oh my God he cut off his legs? With that one swipe of the saver he cut off both of his legs and he cut off his other good arm. Because remember after he gets burned he's pulling himself up with one arm which is mechanical which he lost an attack of the clones.

Kenobi’s entire combat style is defense, waiting for your enemy to make a mistake. Anakin’s entire combat style is aggressive offense, trying to overpower your enemy with speed and strength. It took Anakin that long to make a mistake…and it almost exhausted Obiwan in the process.

@@artsohcExcept that Obi-Wan wasn't really "almost exhausted" though, he was just being patient the entire time, something that Anakin was *never* very good at.
