Not North Africa, it only encompass Morocco, Tunisia and Algeria, in this specific and general understanding. North Africa is sometimes referred to "Grand Maghreb" and encompass a little bit more than just "North". And very, very rarely used. So let's stick to common designation of the 3 ex french colonies here. From France oo.

I wish everyone else would think like you guys and stand up for their lives (which like you said we only have one) England is even playing around with 4 day work days for the week at 32 hours a week and so far it shows exactly what we all know - workers are happier, working harder and have more free time for their family and errands - oh and so far they are showing the actual buiness is making JUST as much as it makes with a 40 hour week.

Hi Uncle D, Happy to meet you again. I live in Perpignan now (the Pyrenees mountains to the south, by the sea and bordered by the Spanish border-shown on the map in the video), but I'm Parisian by birth. My two grandmothers were also Parisians, like yours. Some statements in this video should be reconsidered: - Concerning horses, we always show photos of mounted horses to discuss the horse industry and the consumption of this meat (like in this video). But, in reality, the main source is made up of draft horses or draft foals and, more succinctly, of mounted horses at the end of their life. There is still a French equine meat sector, but it is insignificant compared to the pork, beef, and poultry sectors (less than 1%). Half of the equine herd is kept on farms, and the breeding of heavy horses (40% of the national herd) is concentrated in the mountain areas, Pyrénées-Atlantiques, Massif Central and Rhône-Alpes. If they were actually consumed in the past, it was especially in times of scarcity (wars, epidemics, destroyed crops due to climatic conditions such as droughts, hail and repeated frosts, etc.). The custom took hold and horse butcheries emerged. But, it was mainly in the north of France (Paris and Parisian regions included) until the end of the 1980s. Previously, they only offered French draft horse meat. Today, most horse butcheries have closed. Those that remain are mainly located in the northernmost region of France (Hauts-de-France ⇾ the region located in the far north of mainland France) and principally offer imported horse meat. Elsewhere, we hardly find any anymore. Then, even if we still find a section reserved for horse meat in hypermarkets, this is very succinct and only offers horse meat from Argentina (not recommended because Argentine legislation is much laxer than the French and authorizes the massive use of antibiotics and hormones). The French sector has become exhausted by consumption habits that have significantly evolved since the 90s. Good to know. Horse meat has a taste very close to that of beef (slightly more pronounced) and is much better for your health (much leaner). It also presents interesting energy qualities. - For snails, 700 million snails consumed in France may seem like an astronomical figure. However, the current French population is approximately 68 million individuals. This, therefore, represents a dozen snails per head (mainly consumed during the end-of-year holidays, Christmas and New Year's Day). In addition, we must remove from this figure tourist consumption, which is not less, since most visitors from abroad, who come to spend a few days in the territory, taste this typically French dish at least once (France being the most visited country in the world with more of 70 million visitors per year). As for the consumption of raw or lightly cooked meat, again, we must put it into perspective: consumption is tiny. The most consumed meat in France is pork, and in second place, chicken. - Regarding the strict rules for broadcasting songs in French on the media, I am always amused that the Anglo-Saxons are surprised, knowing that they themselves mainly listen to the English variety on their media. Other languages are under-represented. In addition, American and English protectionism is much more drastic in terms of the distribution of foreign works (cinema, music, etc.) than the French model. This is also the reason for the existence of channels similar to yours. Note: the word “France” means: “Land of free men”. The origin of the name (frank) is Proto-Germanic and means “javelin” or “spear.” The metaphor of the javelin thrown into the air gave another etymology to the word by defining it as “free” (frank ⇾ free) in the ancient Germanic languages (the “Franks” became afterward the “François” and later the “Français” and, of course, the country “France,” being the country of the Franks by extension, means “the free men's land,” so). Peace, folks. ☮👈😎

Sometimes it snows. As for New Caledonia, 3 referendums were voted on and 3 times they chose to remain French. (we can't get rid of it). As for Cheese (fromton or fromtogom in Parisian slang) there are more than 1200 kinds. It's true it's an invasion, in my tiny village in Normandy I have Australian, English and Dutch neighbors.. @@ReactionsbyD Indeed, America isn't as appealing a place to live compared to France. There, you work tirelessly just to make ends meet, without the security of a proper retirement plan. If you ever require hospitalization, the costs can easily equate to two houses, five cars, and more. What's striking is that Americans seem to accept this reality. In France, if we're discontent, we protest, but in America, if you're dissatisfied, there's always someone willing to undercut you. There's a lack of true solidarity among Americans. The sole form of solidarity among Americans seems to be reserved for their soldiers, which is perplexing because they voluntarily put their lives on the line. However, for those who haven't opted for such a path... Instead of prioritizing investments in domestic development, resources are predominantly directed towards the military. One might question the rationale behind this allocation. Honestly, your country possesses all the ingredients for a pleasant existence, yet it appears as though there's a reluctance to actualize it. That's how the US looks to me, as a French ^^'

Eating horse was quite common about 40 years ago but it is also a prestigious meat and therefore rather expensive compared to beef. This disappeared little by little with the impoverishment of its people who can no longer afford it but mainly because of animal protection associations. And the result is that now, horses are becoming much rarer in our regions and are bred for the very popular horse race for betting, which I find much worse treatment than eating them after raising them happily in the countryside. We will thank the defenders of good thinking for this. No longer wanting to eat horses means greatly reducing their population and reserving the little that remains for practices in which the most inhumane mistreatment (doping, selection and genetic crossing) can be allowed. Too bad, the taste of horse meat is truly exceptional.

France is a wonderful country... poorly governed. About the video, there are a lot of "clichés". No, the French don't take naps, it's just an old joke about Corsica. No, not all French people eat snails... personally I love frog legs with parsley 😄. No, each region does not speak its own dialect but like in most countries around the world there are different accents. I also noted an unforgivable error regarding the singer Jacques Brel. He was Belgian and not French and he was a wonderful artist. Belgium also offers great things, they gave us Lara Fabian 😉 . Yes, France is a wonderful country, but a country which is losing its bearings and which will soon lose its soul 🤕. regards and respect from France D. and sorry for my approximative English 😉.

@thegremlinss 4 ай бұрын
I agree that France has unfortunately been poorly governed for too long. As for naps, I disagree. Personally, I take them, and many people around me do too. However, this practice is becoming increasingly rare, partly because lunch breaks have become shorter to finish work earlier, and also due to the ubiquity of new technologies. Nowadays, people often spend their lunch break on their phones rather than taking a nap. Regarding languages, although not all regions preserve their dialects, many still do. Just as America normalized English on its soil by removing the right of residents to speak French, notably in Louisiana, in metropolitan France, we also tried to standardize the French language and make dialects disappear to facilitate communication. However, this did not last long in France. Nowadays, there is a renewed interest in regional languages. Young people are reviving the traditions of their ancestors, and this is a positive development.

The only big mistake is Jacques Brel who's Belgian. Now about Horse meat, no one in France (almost nowadays) eats horse meat. Actually in France horse meat has been a huge consumed meat after the mechanical car replaced the horse driven cars. After the second world war the gas motor car and farm tractor replaced quickly the horse driven vehicules, so there were so much old, wounded horses in the country that... yeah our grand parents and parents would just eat their meat. But today no, it's definitely NOT a popular eated meat, it's probably even really, really rare.

About the CSA and CNC in France; I actually don't know if the numbers are accurate, but the idea is still real. During the day, majority of musics on radio should be french (or french-speaking) and quite recent. During the night, the regulation don't put as much pressure. The idea though is to help french artists to have visibility. Without the CSA regulation, radios would probably always play songs of the TOP 50 Worldwide to attract people. So they choose to force everyone playing french songs, to limit the difficulty for french artists to live from their music. Overall, this video is not "wrong", it's more like "unaccurate". The point was more to discover a country in a funny video, but of course, you can't shorten such an old country history in 15 minutes. He had to do shortcuts. Actually, as a french, you would understand everything, every jokes, but as a non-french you can be misdirected sometimes. Not that you would understand something totally wrong, but you would miss the exact meaning. An exemple of that (among others) is when he talk about "friendzone" in the end. He says that Japan and Germany are close friends from France, and even if it's not wrong, it's hard to place them on the same level. German and french GOVERNEMENTS are really close and have strong relations, but german and french people are just neighbours. We are not really close, we don't really despise each others (exept for deadbrains racists that keep refering to WW2, but who cares about racists opinion). On the other side, french people (especially young generations) and japanese people do have this mutual fascination he's talking about, but our governements don't interact that much (just like the USA don't interact that much with India, for exemple). Most of the video have this kind of unaccuracies, but it's nothing really important, no big deal. This videos are funny introductions to other countries and cultures, not documentaries, so you can consider what was said as "good enough".

12:30 Arabic population in france in majority comes from the Maghreb which include 3 countries which are : Algeria, Marocco and Tunisia. So they are in the 10% in this graphic but i really think that this number has increased those 5 last years. I think we can talk about explosion...

Muslim is not an ethnicity. The graph shows the maghreb region, most of the muslims that came to France are from this area because they were colonized by France.
@spartane69
@spartane69 3 ай бұрын
Hum no their is not a lot of muslim, the majority of the 10% u saw from the magrheb region are, but u should stop listening to the people who push this kind of narrative, cuz yeah even tho muslim are here in france (and they have the right to be and practice their religion) they are not as "numérous" as people would want u to believe.. I come from a family where half is muslim, the other half christian, and for some reason, some people in each half think the other want to replace them, but when they get together, those suspicion go away cuz they start talking with each other, know each other, and when u know who and what u are tlaking about, préjudices start to fade away.

I was born in France and still live here...But my dream now is to live in USA, somewhere where i'll can live with huge space and without the fear to be attacked everyday by terrorism... It's not easy to explain but i really feel that this country (i don't say "my" country no more) is lost and that in 10/15 years it will be like in Lebanon. Too much foreigners with another religion (islam) coming in a too short time is gonna destroy all we have built the last 2000 years... Sad but this is like life, one time you die. 🙏

Hello, Are you comparing France and the USA in terms of terrorism and security? Are you kidding us?😅 Except your comparison is entirely backward, mainly because of the sale of free weapons. You are much more likely to die or be injured by bullets in the USA than in France (you or your children at school, for example). Mass killings are much more numerous. Same for serial killers and gangs. It’s nothing comparable. Refrain from confusing felt impressions and tangent reality. We’re bombarded with news about the slightest attack, overwhelmed with violence, and the slightest “refusal to comply” in the media. Videos like “Reportage with the BAC of Marseille” (or elsewhere) have repeatedly been running for years. Except these are shoots over several weeks concentrated on a format of 45-115 minutes maximum. So obviously, when we watch that, we feel that’s the Wild West! 😅 But, in real life, it’s something else unless you live in Marseille, a red-light district, or La Cité des Beaudottes in 93 and other districts of the same ilk. Besides, watch the many YT videos “Why I left the USA,” and you’ll fall off your chair. The “French Way of Life” is much more pleasant and peaceful than the American model. Americans who settle in France rarely return to live in their country of origin (you’re welcome in France, my American friends). Turn off your television, ban certain TNT and specific YT channels, and live much better. Peace, folks. ☮👈😎

What a joke you want to live in USA for security 🤣😂 the country with mass school killings where there’s more weapons than the habitants also a country which has one of the highest murder rate. Other thing we have more than USA citizens is our universal healthcare system which is known as the best healthcare system in the world. In France you won’t pay for your healthcare while in USA if you’re poor you’re dead or mostly ends up with medical bills as low as ten thousand of dollars to high as millions. So in US of A the land of bullshit( not the land of freedom nor dream) you’re most probably going to get killed by either a gun or of health🤣😂.You are definitely someone who has no idea about the world other than France. I’m French and I’m a world traveler too believe me when I say our France is way better compared to most of other countries and it’s heavenly compared to living in USA. Viva la France viva la republic 🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷

France is loosing its culture. La Chanson française, for exemple, is almost dying. The lyrics and music are increasingly poor.The only art that survive is cinema. But very few films are good... The school has been in free fall for 40 years. (The ravages of left-wing egalitarism and pedagogism...) Same thing for Police, Justice, Hospitals.... A big social crisis is coming because of lack of vision of our politicians. Industry has been ruined by Globalisation and euro. Tourism remains a good sector but salaries are very low. France is over-indebted. Immigration is out of control and an obscurantist islam is colonising more and more parts of France. Jews feel insecure and go back to Israel...That's the last straw! A parallel economy based on drug traffic and various robberys is becoming an insolvable problem. More and more policemen and lawyers are corrupted by traffickers. That is why Marine Le Pen (populist party) has a good chance to become our new President. It is not a good news because I think that she is a demagogue and has not a serious vision of economy... As you can see, I' m a genuine french man...Always complaining! (The french love to complain...) By the way, the report is pretty accurate but a little dated...(My testimony is more up-to-date!)
