Does the ciphers make sense in English? I heard that one of the translators had to quit since it was pretty hard to translate.

@@Skepticalraven The story makes sense (to me anyway) but you won't understand the ciphers very well. A lot of the ciphers have been a lot more translator friendly in recent chapters so the confusion won't last long.

I was pleasantly surprised to see them talk about it. I've been following it after seeing it mentioned on the manga subreddit, but haven't seen anything about it anywhere else. The whole 90s/2000s rock music theme is pretty nostalgic for me.

@@jasonhunter2819 i agree, i thought kaoru was way too melancholic constantly and quickly, you and i are polar opposites is just so much fun in how the friendships and characters are. Another romance to mention would be blue box which is more traditional but does it better than most while balancing a sports aspect.

Cipher Academy is so fucking GOAT'd. I love reading it weekly, its so so so good. Been reading it since chapter 6 or 7. If youre reading this and havent read it yet, go read it!

@@mrravinraven Oh, I had heared something really early on in its publication that the translations did not transfer good into English and therefore stopped the english publication of it. Guess that must have just been a rumor then

One of the streams I look forward to most every year! Great way to read some of the real good stuff that will be adapted into anime that don't have enough attention yet. Oshi no Ko, Frieren, and Medalist are some of my now favorites! Interested in "The Summer You Were There" and "Dragon and Chameleon especially

oh wow, kindergarten war is mentioned. Just recently read it, it was a blast binging it! And Ichinose family deadly sin, it has always been a cluster confusion reading it, which is absolute enjoyable from the start

When I first heard the name, I thought it would Spy x family inspired, but very quickly realized it was chainsaw man inspired isntead lol. The main character, the art style, the fights, the gore, the complete lack of hesitation to kill off characters, everything.

Yesterday I finished reading "Downfall" by Inio Asano. Its the same author who did "Goodnight Pun Pun". I don't know how popular "Downfall" is, but it was a really good read in my opinion. Definitely going to look into the ones in this video.

The only one of those that I've read is Daemons of the Shadow Realm. Had a pretty interesting opening, did a good job at making the reader wonder what is going on by making the protagonist similarly clueless. Interested to see where that one is going.

Honestly, the number one web manga is REALLY REALLY GOOD. I also feel like it's about time we got some good Yuri stories out there. Same with "The summer you were there" I cry reading that story!

The new series from Arakawa Hiromu already is available since earlier this year in Germany. It is here subbed "The Band of the Underworld", we already got 3 print volumes out (as of this month)

28:19 I am fairly certain the "Traditional Chinese Award" is from Taiwanese fans not Chinese fans. All of the sponsors listed on the Next Manga Awards Traditional Chinese page are all Taiwanese companies including the Taiwanese division of Kadokawa and Book Walker. I believe China has different divisions and isn't involved in this. Kind of hurts that something Taiwanese fans voted but "Chinese fans" took credit. Also a bit surprised that Book Walker/Kadokawa didn't check before releasing. Other thoughts on the manga: I have seen 5th, 2nd, and 1st place fan translated by some fan translators (I believe all of them got permission) when they are all still Twitter manga. 1st place is just rizzing the heck out of the gyaru. Kind of reminds me of Horimiya as well. Immediately caught up to Ichinose Ke no Taizai, the plot is honestly started off really crazy. I do like the rather unique take on the plot.

I really wanna promote The Summer You Were There/ Kimi to Tsuzuru Utakata, please if you haven’t read it, please give it a try. The entire manga is finished and it’s not that long of a read, being only about 31 chapters. If you haven’t read it i sincerely recommend it, it’ll be worth it i swear. This manga is a memorable one.
