Today we’re gonna read a fairytale of Russian folklore. It’s called Снегурочка (Snow Maiden). It’s about a girl that was made out of snow by an old man and an old woman who had no kids.
Don’t be afraid that this fairytale is going to be difficult. I made an adapted version for you. It means that I took the original fairytale, replaced old and bookish words with simplified words.
It’s going to be reading and pronunciation practice for you. You will see the task on the screen and you can just follow the instructions.

Ooooh, this is so nice, thank you! When I started to learn Russian I tried to read many Russian сказки, but they were too difficult with all those old terms. But I love them, and use many of those stories for my drawings. I'm specially fond of Василиса Прекрасная.

This was extremely helpful. It helped me to hear how words ending with the soft sign should sound, but most of all it made me realise that I have been over-rolling my Р's. This has been making pronouncing words with that letter in them very difficult and my tongue has been getting stuck in those places!

Personally I had to play it at 0.5x speed to understand at all, but that might just be a me problem. Очень полезное видео, в целом. Спасибо

That’s not your problem at all, I’m reading at a normal speed on purpose, so students can get used to how we speak in general. So of course it’s completely normal to play this video at 0,5x, because you can catch the things that you need 😊 Главное практиковаться ☺️

Попрощаться is perfective ☺️ прощаться is imperfective
