Commemorating the Little Schuylkill Navigation Railroad and Coal Company (LSRR) which operated between Tamaqua and Port Clinton beginning in 1831. (VHS Tape) Click on 480p.

I miss watching steam in the mountains and the lonesome whistle crying in the distance. The video of the train going thru Hawkes Nest Va is really enjoyable

This was the kinda work that many of Reading's T-1's were built for. Some were made for passenger service, but many were built to haul heavy freight like this up and down the track.

After 25 years sitting idle, Steam Locomotive No. 2102 is slated to return in service. In a New Release put out on January 21, 2016, the Reading & Northern Railroad has begun work on restoring No. 2102. The goal is to perform the FRA Form 4 “1472” inspection.

I was on the 2102 when she was pulling the freedom on the east coast at Valley Forge Pa. With my dad Frank Baker .sr.

My, father fired the 2102 back in the day, he retired from the Reading RR, 1977,👍as an engineer.🤠, Frank jr.

So apparently the hooter whistle on 2102 never gets replaced, unlike 2100 where BOTH its whistles were changed.

mike ggg That whistle is a Boston and Maine 6-chime step top. The 425 weared it before it was taken out of service. Wish they would’ve kept it on longer.

@@mikeggg5671 81 cars! No minor feet, they are not loaded but still very impressive. Also would 100% still be able to pull 60-80 loaded coal hoppers.

to bad there can,t be presurw on M.rMuller to run these trisps again he runs a few with the little 425 I don,t see why not the 2102 the engine we would want to see again I wonder could he do it in cooperation with steam TOwn and perhaps 2121 ass she has all roller bearings said to be the best of the fleet of 30

If you haven't already heard, 2102 is slated to return to the reading northern. She is currently being overhauled. Might be a year or 2 til she returns but she'll be back, just you wait and see.

Relax, if you really wanna complain about pollution, go check out the emissions these big companies are producing. Today, Steam Locomotives are very much far from being the leading source of pollution, so please, don’t be that one idiot complaining about the “pollution” and let people enjoy this stuff.

@@aljones3151 Yes, I’ll admit, Steam Locomotives do cause pollution, but it’s not a lot of it, especially since compared to 60+ years ago, there are a lot less steam locomotives today. Because of this, they are far from being the main source of pollution, so again, if you truly want to see the leading source, look up how much damage companies like Amazon or the big oil companies has done.
