i’m back with another video to relieve some of the stress of college admissions. this will also probably be my last college admissions advice video bc applications are due in like two weeks. i hope you guys found this very helpful, and be sure to leave any questions you have below or dm me on instagram :) also be sure to subscribe because i am getting in the groove of making videos and i’m going to try and make them every single week (i also have like 4 videos that i just need to finish editing).
if i can give any advice for waiting for college decisions, it would be just to avoid anything about college bc that will make you just way too stressed. college season sucks so i’m just sending all the good vibes through the screen lol. also please like this video bc making this video embarrassed me.

Omg I study history at college but in Brazil we can’t like ~make an essay~ it’s just ONE EXAM that we do when we have 17. I didn’t get into my dream college but now I’m happy, my “second option” is more focused in what I love the most in history. The fact that you have to show you personality in these essays gives me another reason to want to apply to Harvard. I've been finding reasons why to apply to Harvard and not just because its the #1 school in the world. I've been watching vlogs on Harvard students lives in their blogs and I found that they have such a productive life, and not only that, but there productivity is based on what they want to study too! I've see class experiences in blogs and found that committed students never ditch any classes, and not only because they have to to pass, but because they're actually interested! Its amazing! SO many people want to enter because its the best school in the world but I've found that past and current students are there because they have a drive that can't be stopped, and I've realized that I have it too. This is why I want to enter Harvard. Entering the #1 school shouldn't just be an achievement, there should be another reason to go there. It should be to have the opportunity to learn the knowledge to chase your passions, and until the last moment, I WILL STRIVE to enter this school.

Wow really appreciated your reflection on your essay. While you were reading it I thought it kinda came off as “white priveledgy” and was a glorified/glossed over view of history. However, the fact that you looked back and analyzed your past “mistakes” was cool because it shows how your perspective can change it just a year. Congrats on Harvard! I applied rd and am hoping to hear back in a couple weeks. Fingers crossed 🤞

@Madison Mackrell I ended up getting waitlisted and later ultimately rejected. I also decided to take a gap year but will be attending one of my dream colleges next fall so it all worked out !! :))

We homeschool and I was curious what a Harvard essay would be like. I homeschool my four grandchildren and the nine-year-old could listen or read about the revolutionary war every day for the last three years. He wants to figure out the Roanoke colony.

@@desireekg3688 Yeah so I ended up getting rejected (they had a new thing where there was a lottery), but I got a higher score on the exam(by a lot) than my friend who got in, and I have a higher GPA and more extra curricular stuff so im kinda confused as to why I didnt even get waitlisted

Totally not, although you could join some activities such as a band, example like youtuber John Fish, he is passionate and wrote his essays about tracking but he majors in computer science and he still get in.

Queen Koko yep,you’re totally right. I wrote this almost two years ago now, and I’ve changed so much since then so I can totally see how privileged I sound in this essay lol. To be fair, I grew up in an extremely white area, and only took European history throughout high school( required) so I was never exposed to much other history. I’m excited to explore more diverse history and perspectives in college though!
