Your youngest is one of us! You know it makes me so happy when my friends' kids happen to be readers, like... many people say that kids don't read anymore, but it's not true, what happens is that parents who don't influence their kids by being readers themselves are likely to have kids who are not interested in books. Perhaps they have a teacher in their lives that inspire them to read if they are lucky... but the children of readers? those kids will be fine. And I'm glad that he's a fantasy reader. You must be incredibly proud of him.

I haven't read Just for the Summer by Abby Jimenez, yet. I am going to recommend Before Girl by Kate Canterbary if you haven't read it. Great banter, internal dialogue, and characters! The audio was fantastic, too.

My son reads too. Has his whole life really. He is 18 and loves the Dune books. We are going to start going to the Library too. I don’t care what people think of my romance books. I read more than just romance( fantasy and mystery too. It’s really good when it has romance too) but always go back to Historical Romance. My mom gave me my first romance book to read on vacation when I was around 12. ❤❤❤

I have definitely felt like some books coined as Romance have read more like Adult Contemporary Fiction, Women's Fiction or Something else. It feels like when the romance drops from the main plot to a side plot or even an after thought at times. No if the story is working romance or no romance I am going to love it no matter the percentage the story is giving to the romance. I think what may be happening is that the publishing industry is labeling things as romance and partially authors are getting picked up as romance authors and they are pretty much doing this as long as the follow a simple rule which is slapping an HEA onto their story. As long as it has an HEA they can then publish their story even if it is more Contemporary Fiction or Women's Fiction. I feel like it something the book industry pushes for sells. I don't know if all the books being sold as romance would actually sell if they were to chop of those HEA's and publish them as general Fiction, literary fiction or Women's Fiction. It might be interesting to see if some authors end up completely transitioning out of Romance and into other genre's. I do think Kennedy Ryan can definitely make the switch to Literary or maybe even Thrillers.💙💙💙
