'"I'm flying home," said Sissix. "That's something I've got to do myself."' This is the quote that comes to mind from one of my favourite books, The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet by Becky Chambers. Its about turning off autopilot and manually flying to her home planet, and for some reason it really stuck with me. I now turn off the satnav early on the way home from holiday, which 9 times out of 10 results in me getting lost or stuck in traffic I could have avoided 😅 Really good to see you back, have missed the videos

I'm so happy your reading vlogs are back😃🙃! They are my favourite videos of yours. I've been enjoying the summer as well so far. Cool nights meaning great sleep, being able to still wearing my jeans without sweating, working in the heat is no fun either... Though I selfishly wouldn't mind a week of mostly dry and sunny weather as I'm going on holiday to the Baltic Sea today.

Cookies look lovely! My go to recipe is one I've tweaked over the years, dark chocolate, tahini, maldon salt 😊 If you like your cookies super fresh, I can recommend freezing a few dough balls when you bake and and baking them from frozen the day you want them. Fresh cookies any time! (And no risk of uneaten bakes... not that we ever struggle too much with that over here).

My fave quote is from The Road by Cormac McCarthy, the father about his son - ‘He said: If he is not the word of God God never spoke’. So heartbreakingly tender. Speaking of the election and Bridget Jones in one vid, have you heard that apparently Helen Fielding based Mark Darcy on KEIR STARMER as they moved in similar circles in London in the 90s?? It could be an urban myth/unverified internet rumour but it is scarily plausible 😂

26:04 I use own-brand yeast extract because (I think) it's gluten free. And I use own-brand for everything else because I ain't paying for the packaging! (Herbal tea, coffee, and cleaning stuff are the only branded things I buy)
